A little aside, but I've seen a few people say they didn't like using a forum from their phone. So I have to ask, what aspect is annoying to use, and what would be better? What do other platforms allow that you are missing here?
Genuinely curious. The little I've interacted with discord felt like an old school chat room with a voice chat function. Great for multiplayer video games, for sure. Haven't tried that from my phone at all.
For my part, I have a shorcut on the homescreen of my phone. I click that (too many times a day) and see if there have been any new posts. If notifications were an option I would disable them anyway, so that's definitely not on my want list.

1. The Battlepack - Personally, I despise the priority roll, so I'm glad to see it get axed.
I think the rules were clear and concise, and I liked the changes to Battle Tactics and Grand Strategies. My preference is for the removal of all faction-specific Grand Strategies and Battle Tactics, as they tend to be very poorly balanced.
2. The Missions - I thought there was a solid selection of missions. From best to worst:
The Vice - I really like the gameplay flow this mission has. You want to move forward and put pressure on your opponent without leaving the rear objectives unguarded, but unlike a traditional mission there eventually comes a point where both players are forced to make a move. It encourages patience and careful positioning without being a passive scoring snoozefest. Really enjoyed this one.
Starstrike - Starstrike is fun. Everybody has a story where the objectives dropped unfavourably, but at least in this iteration of the mission there are only three positions each objective can occupy. I think it's fun, and like all of my favourite missions encourages thoughtful positioning and planning.
Forcing the Hand - The concept of choosing which of your own objectives scores more highly for your opponent is very interesting. A mission that specifically favours melee-oriented armies, and forces one to weigh the risk of moving where the enemy wants you to in order to score points. Really cool, liked it a lot.
Power in Numbers - A raze objective mission - the worst kind of mission when the double turn is in play, I actually found it to be quite interesting without the priority roll. I'm also a fan of the Battleline clause.
Rising Power - A pretty simple mission to start things off. It was a good choice to ease beginners in, but ultimately it's just not that interesting or nuanced.
Realmstone Cache - The inverse of a well-designed mission. You start with the mosh pit and are eventually encouraged to pull back. Weird deployment, too. Doesn't play nicely with a lot of Battle Tactics and Grand Strategies. Not one I'd want to see revisited.
3. Administration - I'm glad we let players switch their armies when things weren't working out. I had no issues getting my games in, and I felt it was organized well overall.
As you mentioned earlier, the timing with Club Champs made things a bit awkward for me and a few others that I was aware of. Starting at a different time of year would be better, methinks.
3. (3, again) Scheduling - No complaints with the pacing or length.
4. Other Notes - I like that the prizes are full raffle and require full participation. Encourages people to get their games in, and not to just bring metastomp lists.
Shoutout to btg for letting me try out Ironblasters, and to pleaman for agreeing to a rematch after I messed up our first game.

Thanks for ALL of the feedback everyone! Much appreciated.
Couple key points for me...
1) Priority Roll - Kind of an echo on Kurdz, I haven't been playing warhammer long enough to have a real strong opinion on the priority roll. In my circle, there were more of us who wanted to see how Sigmar would operate without the priority. An experiment for sure.
2) The Battlepack - Most, well lets be real here, ALL of the brains came from Derek as he's been involved with this game since day one. A HUGE shoutout to him for taking the time to create/amend the battle tactics and missions. I thought for the most part that battle tactics played well and weren't too easy to achieve.
3) Scheduling - I think this worked well. I believe two weeks is enough time for people to get their games in. I do agree that should we decide to run this again, we keep 40k Club Champs in mind... Maybe an August start? Any thoughts?
4) Admin - This was a little tough... I found it a little bit difficult when folks didn't respond to messages from their opponent, to me, it's simple...If you can't make it work let your opponent know sooner rather than later and perhaps make a plan to make that game up in the coming weeks. If that still won't work (for whatever reason), there is usually a group of us who are willing to step in so that you can play a game. That last part I think is great.
5) Forum - I like the forum...have no real issues with it. Discord is an option...Easy to use if we're considering an alternative but I like things the way they are on here.
6) Prizes - As the sponsor I'm actually looking forward to giving some prizes out. Each of you will have a ballet, you won't be able to win more than one prize (3 in total). I'm still planning on doing the draw at the tournament. If you can't make the tournament, no problem. I will hold onto your prize until we cross paths again. For those of you who don't know, I'm an insurance broker (home, auto, business insurance). If you're interested in a quote ever, I would appreciate the support, an excellent way to say thank you.
Lastly, I again wanted to say thanks to ALL. Without YOU there is no league. And again, thanks to Derek for his expertise, input and overall help in making this a success.

I want to echo what Mike's said here about the admin thing because I didn't specifically mention it before, but admin would be much easier if people were generally more motivated to tell us when they couldn't or didn't want to play a game. We probably could have cleared out make up games much earlier in the league. Probably can't complain too much though, we did manage to get nearly everyone 6 games! Thanks again Mike- he credits me with my work but neglects to mention the entire League is his brainchild. Yatesie are you going to leave future plans for later after the tournament? I figured while you have everyone's attention this would also be the opportunity to talk about what's next in this format.

I just want to say that my early objections to a having home-brew rules were proven to be unfounded. While there were little bugs here and there, the system worked vey well and I think it contributed to a successful league. It's nice to wrong sometimes!
I would definitely sign up for the next league!

Just want to say thanks again guys for all the work in planning and organizing the league. Very much appreciated. I can imagine the level of work that went into it, so thanks again and great work.
1. The Battlepack - In general, the battlepack was great. I appreciated the rulings on core battalions (being a gargants player) and the battle tactics were challenging enough where I didn't feel like there were gimmies all over the place. For the priority roll...I like it. I know it seems very much against the the grain of what a lot of folks feel but I like having the priority roll as part of the game. It brings another level of strategy and planning into things, as you always need to keep it in mind when making decisions. There's an added level of excitement and drama that I appreciate. The static roll off rules the league used, well they were fine but honestly - for me - it made things a little more predictable and not in a good way. I'm not saying I hated how things were, there was just some times it was a little more disappointing knowing how things were going to go.
At the end of day I like the way the game has been designed and built and I'm excited to play that game. There are some exceptions of course (6 month GHB season being one of them), but nothing fundamental to how the game operates. Again, this is just me. And at the end of the day I can honestly say that I had fun in every game I played using the league rules.
2. The Missions - Missions were good, no complaints from me here.
3. Administration - Do you have any comments about how the League was administered? Did you enjoy assigned matchups? Did you have significant difficulty finding games with your assigned players? Would you change anything about how this was organized in the future? Was the simplification of victory tracking sufficient, or would something more granular have been preferrable? Did you feel like matchups were assigned fairly? Any notes on how faction identities were handled throughout?
3. Scheduling - Speaking personally, given that I have young kids and a partner with an irregular schedule, I really appreciated the amount of time given to schedule a game with our opponents. I thought 2 weeks worked well for, and for the most part I was able to connect easily with my opponents and find something in that span of time that worked for both of us.
4. Other Notes - Love the idea of a prize raffle, it's awesome to include that. I absolutely would have joined regardless of that being included, but it's a great addition to be sure. I saw some talk earlier in the thread about painting...outside of a championship type league/tourney I don't think it should ever be a REQUIREMENT to have your stuff painted. Though, I could definitely see a place for a voluntary army showcase type thing where folks can show off their pain jobs. Maybe there's a vote for best painted army with a shoutout or something, but should be optional so as not to turn away folks. After all, I think part of the benefit of this league was not having to play the same list every game let you experiment different army combinations which may or may not be painted at the time.
All in all, like I said, I had a lot of fun. I appreciate the work that went into this and want to thank all my opponents for a great time. Cheers.
