Yet another update:
Going to stick with the "nothing above 15+ casting" rule... we tried out the option last night of just throwing out the level 6 spells of each lore, but with the boostable effects of other spells which base have less than 15+ but boosted are pretty impressive (pit of shades anyone?) and looking at orcs & goblins lore having really no overpowered level 6's anyways, it seemed to arbitrary (and really, are you that afraid of the level 6 Athel Loren spell?)
A couple of reminders: sending me your list ahead of time at: smcleod11@cogeco.ca will ensure that we're able to start on time because I won't be mucking about trying to figure out comp matchups for round one... there's no actual penalty if you don't... just my disapproving stare and possibly a snapped off spear or two on "accident"...
Things will be different a little bit as in there will be objectives and missions based on what table you are on... so each round everyone will be playing a DIFFERENT mission / deployment and objective! This is due to my own ideas about trying something new, and also to reflect that your armies will be actually be affected by the terrain setup in a meaningful way, and that objectives will not be just random but actually make sense as to the setting of the battle. (that's the goal anyways!)
If you really, really really hate one of the "standard missions" in the GW book... post now (ASAP - once I've got this all typed up an organized, my laziness will kick in full force and I won't be changing them)......
There will be some "wacky terrain" but it will be clearly designated on the tables and will not fluctuate throughout the day.
The first game will START at 10AM... Elizabeth has drilled it in my head through the many tournaments I've attended that's she and Matt have done, that timelines are important. So we'll stick to them as close as we can.... If you show up around 9:30 that should give you plenty of time to get your army together, ensure you have your list scored for comp and get ready to play....
Oh, and bring an extra copy of your army list too... that's pretty darn helpful
