Hi all. I just wanted to spread word about the westend store, SBT Comics & Games. It is located at 749 Bayridge Dr.
I wanted to spread the word, as they are in a new location now with a larger play area that previously, and as such can have games of 40K and Sigmar held there. Admittedly, they don't have much terrain yet, but they are working on getting more terrain for the play area.
I bring this up, as according to Facebook, they have an open spot for Warhammer on Monday evenings starting at 5pm. Well, I was there today, but nobody else showed up for Warhammer (There were however some Magic players, and some D&D players).
So... yeah. If you're in the westend you should look into it perhaps.
I should note that I am not affiliated with the store in anyway at all, I just want to have more options as to location of playing, hahaha.

From their facebook page: I may stop by on Thursday after work to paint a model or two, just to check out the vibe in the space.

I'm solely sticking with nexus to be perfectly honest.
Mike, Ali and nexus are some of the primary reasons we have such a strong, well supported and well attended tourneys as well as his ongoing support of the community at large.
this forum is of course independent of nexus and anyone can post whatever they want for events and other stores freely as this is a community page and not a subsidiary of any one store.
I just know where I stand with my money and my support.

That is completely fair. To be honest, I figured this would more or less be the response, but hey, doesn't hurt in letting others know about the other store. As it stands, I know of 3 places in town that sell Warhammer stuff. Nexus, which has the biggest selection, action packed comics, which is hard for me to get to because of parking, but has sort of discount coupons for 15% off gw stuff (so, no tax basically), and SBT, which is the closest to where I live (5-10 minute drive as opposed to a 30 or so minute drive to the Nexus, hahaha).
For what it's worth, I also prefer the nexus. I don't really like Action Packed, and since most players prefer to go to Nexus for Warhammer, SBT would be more useful for other games it seems.

Personally I will be continuing to support Nexus. However, I understand and appreciate the need for a location in the west end. This is particularly true for gamers with transportation issues on that side of the city. Good luck with it!

absolutely! people should attend and support whichever stores they like! I for one am pretty invested in nexus (given I'm their TO afterall) so that's my choice... but i certainly do not begrudge anyone's choices in where they go, and can see where a person living in the west end might find that location more convenient.

I intend on going down the odd Saturday for Bolt Action as I work long hours and very late I can't make games during the week now.

I'll be at both. In this day and age I think supporting anywhere that has support for these kinds of games shouldn't be thought of as competition. Just opens the market for more new players and accessibility. I would hope any fan of the hobby would feel the same.

I'll definitely be continuing to give both stores my business. I play more 40k games at my own house during the last two years than ive managed to play in store. But variety is the spice of life!
