So, now that I've inherited a healthy number of WHFB-era dorfs, and since Cities of Sigmar is about to come down the pipe, I'm thinking this is the time to give AoS a shot.
What are the usual days at Nexus that people show up to play Sigmar at a casual level?

I believe that people meet on Thursday evenings, starting around 6 or so. If course, should you desire another day, you can always arrange something with someone to meet at another time.

I'll have to get some stuff together to go down a thursday soon then!
Is Sigmar as stompy as 40K? That is, in 40K if you bring a casual hodgepodge list it is very reasonable to expect to be virtually tabled in one or two turns by something moderately tuned.

AOS is not nearly as competitive as 40k

AOS is not nearly as competitive as 40k I can attest to this. Also, it's easier to build a list and such.

Good to hear. I said I'd never do it after what they did to WHFB but it looks like I'll be assembling a coupla AoS armies out of Mark's dwarves and my old orcs & gobbos which both just happen to be getting new rules. Exciting!
