well as iron hands have shown, getting extra benefits turn one makes for a big advantage rather than having to wait eg white scars

Hmm, on one hand OW but on the other, higher damage per hit does mean my quantum shielding has a better chance of activating.

Though heavy bolters (and similar weapons) are just that bit more dangerous since they'd be doing 2 or 3 points of damage and have lots of shots. Missile launchers and lascannons on the other hand....
Congrats you did 7 damage with that really good roll. Unfortunately it's auto-negated since I can't roll higher then a six on a d6.

*looks at the pile of primaris I bought without any melta or flamer options* ummm maybe salamanders were not such a great idea for these models? (unless I do flamestorms on the aggressors? seems like the lackluster option though, given the subpar range and cannot ride in the big stupid tank that was super expensive and terrible to build so now I have to use it)

I’ve seen people talking about taking sternguard with a dropped and taking combi flamers. A good combo is to take a successor chapter of salanders and take the trait that adds 3” to your range. So flamers are 11” so you deep strike and shoot 60 flamer shots wounding most stuff on 2’s or vehicles on 4s. Plus you have all the bonus Bolter shots that are hitting at -1 but who cares. 60 FLAMER SHOTS!

ah well I don't have one of those so guess they can roll in the big tank! I'd get a second one but putting together the first one has been less than fun...

You can borrow mine if you ever want to try out a list with 2. I have been thinking of picking up a second one. When I get around to it I guess. on a side note I noticed that there were no mentions of Black Templars in the Imperial Fist post. I wonder if they are getting their own Supp Codex. and if they are releasing them in 2's who else gets one.
