Grab some paints, brushes and a mini or two! Bring your D&D books and plan that next session! Collect up that cosplay that needs some final touches! Lug your laptop along and limber-up them linguistic skills! We don't care what sort of avenue through which you choose to be creative - just get your sweet p'tooter on down to Nexus and out of the [place of lodging] and share it with others! Nobody, at Nexus, is gonna judge you for enjoying something! The point is that there is so much involved with our hobbies, beyond simply playing games, that we do alone and, instead, could be sharing our experiences with one another and growing as gamers and a community. So head on down to Nexus, Sunday afternoons, to share in some creativity and camaraderie!

m.youtube.com/watch?v=Qc47R7pnWugA vlog talking about hanging out and hobbying and its effects on us and productivity. (Warning: GMG's intro music is obnoxious and loud) Edit: it is a 2 hour vlog and they spend maybe 20 minutes talking about the subject matter. While they do discuss some aspects of this and give a few examples, I was hoping for a discussion with far more depth. I should have watched more than the first half-hour, before posting the link, in hind-sight. Spending time socializing and working along side of others has really improved my confidence and skills, with regards to painting (and a little bit of personal growth, as well). Most folks who come out seem to make good progress with their painting and assembly and there are often some very learned folks around, for discussing game rules from several different games.

I'd just like to point out that as someone that has gone to a few of these, it's good fun. You get to paint/assemble/whatever while talking to others. I had a good time the few times I was there anyway.

I may be able to get some time for this in the new year. When on Sundays do you guys think is a good general time-frame?

Folks tend to show up around noon and then hang out until they have decided it is time to leave (or because the store is closing)

I may be there this Sunday after all. Whether for painting or a game is still to be decided though.

Is anyone heading down to the store, for some painting and gaming, today?
