I've been asked to see if I can get an 8 person invitational 3 round tournament for the library during king con for AOS.
free entry.... but need to have at least some colors on models. (it's to showcase AOS to people, hence the free entry for your time... plus will still be dome prize support donated by nexus)
if you are interested let me know if you want a spot.
date is Saturday April 4th

That's fair. I do have interest in joining, but only have 1500 points, and since the point of this is to show off the game to those that may be curious, I'd understand if I can't join because of that.

That would be a lot of fun, I'd be down. However, before committing to it, i'd have to get my exam schedule first
I could also see about getting my friend to come up as well if we need more spots too

Sounds like fun but there's no way in hell I'd have a fully painted AoS by then.
And I'm probably not experienced enough to showcase it anyway!

well some colour is where I'm leaning... doesn't have to be 100% golden daemon level or anything crazy like that (I can't pull that off either! lol) ... but people are going to be looking at the armies as an example of AOS and we want to draw them in to check it out! (so a sea of grey plastic may not do that right? ) Again, I'm just working on the preliminary things with Mike right now on what he wants to see. Big opportunity to grow the AOS side of the club, so I hope we can all pull it off! (plus it's over 2 months away so lets all get painting!) All I know is it's three games and FREE entry... everything else is up for debate, including point size etc.

I'm def going to be painting my orks up for it. Gives me a reason to speed up my rather slow painting progress. I'm hoping I can get 1000 pts ready, with most of leaders, and maybe half my battleline might be good.
As for inviting my friend up, I won't do that yet as I think it's fair to give the spot to local players first. If we do need to fill the spot up, just lmk and I will message him (probably the earlier the better though)

I'd say yes, but it's far too early to say if I can get the day off.

Well, when you know the point limit, be sure to post it here. That will make or break if I can go or not, as I can't buy any new models for a bit as I'm saving for something, hahaha

Is that fully painted?

do what you can... ideally it would be, but that can be as simple as having a couple base colours on everything just so it's not a sea of grey plastic.

8 person invitational is set with the people who have expressed interest to me:
1. Shannon McLeod 2. Taylor Bronson 3. Scott Stant 4. Zach Stant 5. Justin Machesney 6. Chris McDonnell 7. Iain Clark 8. Matthew Santiago
Thank you everyone for the interest. I'm looking at running a regular AOS tourney shortly after the invitational, and that one will be at a lower point level, no painting requirement, great for new players. Thanks to all of the above persons for looking at showcasing the game to a new crowd of potential players - I appreciate it!
