If this is the wrong place to post this, please let me know. I mostly just want other ideas on this.
So, I was looking at what is currently known about this new game that'll be out in a few years time. Warhammer: The Old World. Before I say my piece, I'd like to point out what is known about it so far.
1.) It's set a few hundred, or a thousand years before the End Times, during a time called the Age of Three Emperors. There was a bunch of civil war going on at this time.
2.) The map they showed off of the empire area had a few different banners, representing different empire factions.
3.) Kislev is confirmed to be a faction.
4.) GW has compared the game to another game, The Horus Heresy. Also, it may use square bases.
Now, I've seen some people say that they think by Horus Heresy, it means it'll be a Forgeworld game. I have a different theory.
I think that when they say similar to The Horus Heresy, they mean only Empire type factions, with just a few outside factions. Sort of like how the Horus Heresy is all Space Marines, mostly. From what I can tell, there is also Imperial arm/traitor imperial army, Mechanicum, and maybe demons. All human factions, other than demons.
So, the possibility of multiple empire factions, and bordering nations, such as Kislev in this case. Who knows, maybe Brettonia, Tilea, Estalia, and the Border Princes could be there too.
The point is, that based on what they've said, I don't think there will be non-human factions, so no Tomb Kings, no Orcs & Goblins, etc.
Then again, maybe I'm completely wrong. This is just a theory after all. Feel free to chime in if you have any ideas or what not. This self isolation thing has me bored and lonely, so I mostly just wanted to make a topic to hopefully talk about.
