So after the test game I have all the respect for the plasmancer and Royal Warden. The former makes melee against the main blob just that more dangerous because he's constantly trickling mortal wounds into you and the latter's 'fall back and shoot/charge' ability is a complete VMP. Though giving Thrall of the Silent King (+3 inches to all abilities) to the Plasmancer creates some interesting possibilities. Particularly when dealing with high-invul melee characters charging my lines.
interesting list, was wondering myself about the plasmancer
Honestly I designed this to test the Thrall+Plasmancer combo. Because that trait pushes his pseudo-smite to 21 inches while the lightning aura that kicks off at the start of the fight phase becomes nine.
And a nine inch aura of mortal wounds starts adding up, particularly with the smaller board sizes and the fact that Necrons tend to want to march into the center anyway.
Though if the enemy does have snipers I'll need to hide the Cryptothralls behind some LoS blocking/obscuring terrain (so they don't get shot) meaning the Crypteks stay safe. Because everything I've checked does not indicate that the protector arua requires line of sight to the Cryptek to work.
And as for Mephrit, while it might not be my normal Dynasty, the leaks suggest that it's going to be among the ones changing the least in October so no point in building bad habits by using traits that will vanish in a couple of months.

hmmm very interesting... I'm actually revamping my entire necron army, so have the opportunity to start from scratch and really think about all the choices I'm making...
really like the new kits from indominus (and the new leaks look amazing on the new models - I want them ALL!) so really giving some thought to this one... but like you said, everything changes in October.
He who dies with the most PAINTED miniatures wins!
