Hi everyone!
as were trying to figure out tournaments in our covid apocalypse world, I'd really appreciate feedback as to what worked and what could be better.
I've already heard that cards for terrain features would be beneficial so will get that in place for the next one.

I have a question regarding what should happen when you time runs out and you and your opponent have not reached a full completion of the game (ex. the game only ends at turn 3 since time has run out). Since 9th edition has progressive scoring, if one doesn't finish the game for the full 5 rounds, one will have less victory points than they could have scored if the game went all five rounds.
In cases where the game doesn't finish on time, do we score points based on what we currently have? I'm wondering if there is a need to address what should be done in these types of situations.

My only request would be more fans
It got a bit warm down there, but that also could've been that it was hot as hell that day
Overall the tournament was very fun, and i had a good time

My thoughts would be that if you and your opponent can talk out how the next turn or two would play out that would be acceptable, however if you're neck and neck and there is no clear outcome that would be very difficult to determine and you'd just have to go with what you scored. That's the issue with progressive scoring, which is 9th... it relies upon both players keeping the game going, as there is zero advantage in slow playing, it hurts BOTH players score - unlike 8th were someone could get into position then grind the game to a halt and still get max points. for this tourney we're of course still learning and things are going to be slower, although MOST games played went to turn 5, and many players after round one were done all five turns early. I'm thinking if I apply Connor's suggestion of having terrain rules all printed out on cards on the terrain then it will help to speed up the game further. I'll definitely think on this and try to come up with more suggestions - and if anyone else has any ideas throw them out - we're all just figuring this new edition out together! EDIT: and for higher points like club champs we will of course give more time for rounds.

First off, thanks for organizing the tourney! It was great to get back.
I think that the protocols were sound and easy to respect. Wearing a mask through three games was tiring, but this was balanced by not having the usual din of forty players and not jostling with each other. I think we demonstrated that we can have tournies under the current conditions.
I enjoyed the tourney pack, and the Warlord Secondary was a nice touch. The points level felt right. All of my games went to conclusion. The terrain was good and forced manoeuvre. Not having Lords of War and ForgeWorld was refreshing, but I understand that not all may feel this way. I guess keep mixing it up.
The scoresheets were a great inclusion and kept book keeping manageable. Thanks for those!

I did not attend this most recent tournament but the immediate solution to time running out for me would be to revert to the score from the last round fully completed and use that score. Failing that finishing the current round could also be a solution?
