Been struggling to find testors dullcote here in Kingston. Anyone know where I might find some? Or perhaps an alternative that isn't gw's purity seal?

Is the dull coat basically just a matte varnish? If so, Vallejo makes a good one.

I'll second the Army Painter spray; it's like Mike's Red hot, I use that shit on everything.

Sounds good, thanks for the tips. It is just a matte varnish. They carried it at my last game store, and used to have it at micheals but stopped apparently. Good price, good results.
I've had bad luck with purity seal (snow themes are not for me) but I will check out the vallejo and army painter. Being in stock at nexus is a plus.

I will say that the Army Painter needs a light touch. It takes a bit longer, but I give all of my models a "Duncan" when matte varnishing. Two light coats and you're all good; 1 thick coat and you're toast.
If you go over a model about half as much as you feel spray primer would go on, then you're covering it the right amount.
