Ok, so I've started building the Seraphon, and even went on the warscroll builder site to make myself a list, as well as checking the battletome. I ran into a bit of confusion which I hope to try to have cleared up for me. Ok, so I'll give my specific example here: There are two battalions I'm looking at, a Sunclaw Temple-Host, and a Firelance Temple-Host. The sunclaw is listed as requiring either a Saurus Oldblood OR a Saurus Sunblood. The firelance is listed as requiring a Scar-Veteran. Now, for both the Oldblood and the Scar-Veteran, there in an on foot version, as well as another version. For example, the Saurus Oldblood, and the Saurus Oldblood on Carnosaur. www.games-workshop.com/resources/PDF/AoS_Warscrolls//Seraphon_warscroll_Saurus-Oldblood-on-Carnosaur-en.pdfwww.games-workshop.com/resources/PDF/AoS_Warscrolls//Seraphon_warscroll_Saurus-Oldblood-en.pdfAs can be seen above for both warscsrolls, Saurus Oldblood is in bold and big letters. The first scroll posted however says "On Carnosaur" in smaller print underneath. Does that mean that for the purposes of the battalion that requires an Oldblood they are interchangeable since it only specifies the Oldblood part, or does it require the guy to be on foot, and thus the Carnosaur version can't be used? In regards to the Scar-Veteran, well, there is no on foot version titled just that, but rather the Carnosaur version, and a version mounted on a Cold one. Due to this, I suspect I can use whichever Scar-Veteran I'd want for the battalion, same as for the Oldblood, but I figured I'd ask for clarification, just in case.

For the purposes of battalions, you ignore the small letters underneath. So both versions work.
This is covered in one of the FAQs, but I'm not quite sure which at the moment.

Alright, thank you. This is great news, as it means the list I made myself is legal, hahaha.

Just an addendum, if anyone is ever wondering how/why this works it's actually from the core rules themselves:
Page 240 under battalion organization -
"If an entry is the title of a unit, any unit with that title can be used (you can ignore sub headers under the title unless they are included in the entry for the unit)."
