From the sounds of the descriptions, it seems like they'll likely have S5/T5, or something like an additional wound. They keep mentioning that these are bigger and badder than regular Orks.
Might these be the "Primaris" Orks?
None of y'all will be surprised to hear I expect them to make regular Boyz a thing of the past (not that they're doing more than taking up real-estate, in the current meta, anyway)

If GW is coming out with a new codex, it makes sense that they'll want new models to launch with said codex so it's not just a re-hash of all the currently existing lineup.
Sister JUST came out last year, and they're getting new models to go in their codex. I'm not going to make any assumptions about what they mean for Orks as a faction, maybe they will be the new "Primaris Boys" like you're predicting. I do 100% believe that GW knows if they come out with new units when a codex drops, they get a LOT more buy-in than if they just drop the book with the "same old grind".
Makes me hopeful for all of the new book releases if every army is going to be getting 3-4+ new units.

I guess they had no interest in getting more buy in for Dark Eldar then Literally less units the 5e codex from when I stopped playing lol I get it, Sister, Orcs, Craftworld, etc all need actual new models to catch up to the freshness of the other newer lines of models.

I'm gonna be mad if they are just new boyz.... cause I got 120 of them finally up and running. It seem like the type of thing they would do. I'm hoping they are just skarboyz with a model. S5 orks maybe a pt more expensive rather than 1 cp per unit of them.

To be fair, Drukhari have 42 unit entries on the GW site, whereas Sisters have 33. I'm not saying that there aren't a bunch of un-used models in that lineup, but they do have a fair bit more than SoB. Mind you, if my logic is true, then Aeldari won't be getting anything new either with their hefty plethora of units.

My point was more that I totally understand why SOB, Orks, hopefully Craftworld, Mechnicus, etc would get bigger updates than Drukhari...they deserve what DE got in 2009. I just wanted to poke fun at the assertion that new models = interest, therefore no new models = no desire to generate new interest. Im honestly glad the Orks are getting something new and different same with sisters. Hell id have even settled for finally getting plastic Grots, mandrakes, Court of the Archon, or beasts/beastmaster….those wouldn't even be new models just refreshed ones.

As a Thousand Son player I understand you! I went from 4th edition to 7th with the same Rubrics; that's a hot decade! By the time they came out with new ones, I'd already re-made my Sons.
I completely know that some armies/units are in more dire straights. I just hope GW is taking some opportunity in the "down time" while Covid is keeping people indoors and away from events to tackle some much needed redesign.

What makes me laugh the most (being an oldschool foot-dar player) is that the re-designs for alot of Eldar scults were all done back in 2009 when they designed the DE.....becaues they designed the eldar versions and then twisted them up to make the DE ones. They eventually released the windriders they showed off in 09 like 6 years later. Still nothing of the guardians or striking scorpions they already admitted to having designed.

Shining Spears. Rocking retro style like it's 1993. Nothing like opening a fresh box of an Eldar model to find the copyright mark is so old it could have graduated from university.

I dream about the day we get an Eldar refresh....but odds are it would have to be at an edition launch like they did for Necrons
