I have a question for yall who have ordered off forgeworld and had to possibily deal with customs and duties, I've been looking online about shipping to canada and I saw a thread talking about tarrif numbers ( 9503.00.90 says scale models kits are free from them) and how if you add it to the slip or packing info you won't get hit with duties, I'm curious if anyone else here has done this and if so, how do you tell forgeworld to add it to your package or did you do something else.

They do what they feel like unfortunately. I've been hit with tarrifs a few times, and it was in varying percentages all 3 times. Expect to add 30% to your price listed on the box and you won't be caught off-guard.
It's for that reason why guys often buy from China-world. It's not taking money out of Nexus, or other local places pockets, and it's significantly cheaper at the problem of taking forever to arrive.

Ah okay that kinda sucks alot to hear and I don't order to much or anything from out of Canada so when duties im fairly unfamiliar to it but is it the government that issues the bill to you or the mailing company that picks it up and because I might try to dispute it depending who I get the bill from, I don't like the sound of tacking 51$ (30%) on the already 180$ model.

When it used to come from the UK you would dodge the duty almost all of the time because it came through Canada Post. They spend their little time opening things that have brand names on the box where they 100% know they will get duty from is they spend the time to see if it is eligible (note: all models coming into Canada should have duty charged) since it is actually Customs border agents that do it for them.
When they started shipping from the US I'm not sure if they send it via one of the couriers like UPS but if they do, I'd expect them to charge duty every time as most companies have agreements to do the duty work themselves in exchange for faster time to cross the border.
Don't know if it's changed much since I worked for Canada Post (was like 10 years ago) but duty was a flat rate ($9.50ish probably higher now) plus the taxed rate which was something like 15% of value.

I figured I'd ask a follow up, but have you gotten your model yet? Did you have to pay any customs fees?

I got it last week and I was lucky to not get hit with duties and it was handled by ups so I'm guessing it came from the states maybe?

GW has a US Warehouse now, I forget where it's physically located, but it definitely makes life easier for us here. I don't think they ship direct anymore as if it goes through their US warehouse first I think it no longer counts as an import requiring duty.

So, you said you got it last week. Based on my guess of when you placed the order on account of your original post, that seems to be about 2 1/2 weeks. Not bad.
What was the quality of the models like?
Sorry for asking these questions, I just get curious.

What i got was a R'Varna Battlesuit so the main body and legs seem to be from the riptide sprue and the FW cast stuff seems pretty well made and smooth there is a few small pieces the guns are a lot longer than I thought they were going to be so I might magnetize the arms for easier storage but im going to need to figure out how im going to mag them so they don't fall off because they are fairly heavy and in a way that the guns wont slide and point directly down
