Some changes to secondaries summarized
The new grind them down is much more appealing against elite armies

oh wow... these are MUCH better already!
thin their ranks being actually useful? investigate sites might actually now get picked as a secondary!
given deploy scramblers is a secondary I almost always take (I like sneaky dudes) I'm really liking the change there to make it kind of all over the board useful with table quarters and not an all or nothing pick!
I'll be definitely pre-ordering this!

No Prisoners is exactly the fix needed atm to break the metagame's current state imo.
Changing Scramblers and Investigate Sites is also a welcome change, I really like the idea that Scramblers is possibly table-quarters now because that really emphasizes mobility, and the fact it's a progressive instead of an end-game secondary really makes me feel like some of my armies will have a MUCH better chance to max it out, as I tend to play pretty high mobility focused forces.

I joke, but it actually does sound like kind of a magic bullet for MSU in general, based on rumours - supposedly it's a number of VP every time you destroy a unit equal to the lowest Wounds characteristic in the unit (but not Monsters, Vehicles, or Characters).
That's good against a wide variety of armies in the meta right now, without just stepping on elite armies.

Yeah, I'm kind of brushing off the latest DE stuff as a FOTM radar-blip, and talking more in general about results we've seen in the last 6 months of play, including results from things like the Las Vegas Nopen and others.
I have no doubt they'll adjust to fix DE's current meta-breaker build. Given they likely have been testing these changes in the new books for months now they are probably likely to push these out first. For all we know the points changes in these books might already include the fix for DE (through I highly doubt that)

While I am excited about the tournament pack changes and think they will be useful and worth an investment. I'm pretty salty about this " Mk II" CA book. In Jan they did a free online pdf point adjustment and help fix some of the meta issue. The fact that they want money for this when they have shown they can do it for free is pretty frustrating.
I'd rather see the CA become a mission update book for $30.

I'd rather see the CA become a mission update book for $30. Its entirely possible that there are changes to the missions themselves as well. But they were pretty clear from the getgo that the CA tournament mission pack was going to be an annual document Im annoyed that its a book though, instead of just a free PDF.....le sigh. What will get me though is if the FAQ content for the core rules isnt included when they reprint the rulebook in it

I'll gladly pay for this book with updated secondaries / missions. the points updates I'm a little indifferent to because I honestly just use a listbuilder app anyways ... but I've used the 2020 CA book a LOT, so I'm sure I'll get just as much or more use out of the new version! and yes, moreso than a PDF, because I can bring this nice portable book, have it lay flat on the table when I play with the missions, secondaries and rules updates all right there accessible. I pay WAY more for stuff that is WAY less useful
