Howdy! My name is Kenneth, I’m an old warhammer player trying to get back into the hobby. I recently moved to Kingston and found this site. I wanted to introduce myself and see what the wargaming scene is like here.
Currently I play:
Bloodbowl : I’ve been playing off and on for over 20 years. I’m in a few online leagues until we can meet in person again. One of my favourite games of all time.
Age of Sigmar : I have close to 3k points for orruks, but I’ve only played the game twice, still very new. I’ve mostly been a painter up to this point.
Warhammer Underworlds : I really enjoy this game, I’m not overly competitive, but I think it’s a great system.
Aeronautica Imperialis : I have a pretty big ork fleet for this and enjoy playing it, but I only have a handful of games under my belt.
Necromunda : I’ve played a bit of Necromunda and I like it, but we didn’t have a big community for it. Would be down to play this again.
Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game : I used to run a league for this in Toronto, but Covid kind of nuked our running campaign. It’s not my favourite rules system, but I still like playing it from time to time.
Stuff I’m interested in:
Kings of War : I’m kind of interested in KoW, but I didn’t really find many players back in Toronto before I moved to Kingston.
Adeptes Titanicus : I think this game looks really cool, but I have met zero people interested in it.
W40k : Considering getting into the latest edition, the last time I played was like 10 years ago. If I did start I’d probably go with orks.
I’m interested in meeting people from the community and seeing what’s popular around here.

Welcome to the forum!
We've got a pretty diverse and friendly community here for certain, and as restrictions are lifting we'll be able to play games at our local FLGS Kingston Gaming Nexus once again. I highly recommend checking the store out!
I've known players locally who play all of those games on your list - The biggest group is for 40k locally, but with the new edition of AOS being released, I'm hoping that system will see a resurgence (warhammer fantasy used to be the dominant game locally several years ago).
40k orks are getting a big model release right around the corner, and AOS orruks are in the new edition dominion box too!
(it's a good time to be a greenskin)
I should add that I play 40k primarily, with a bit of AOS thrown in occasionally.

Welcome! Shannon hit the nail on the head, 40k is the major flavour around here; but there's interest in other systems. I bought the Princeps Collection of Titanicus when it came out, but I have yet to finish assembling it and/or even reading the rulebook.
But I do VERY much love some big stompy robots, and it's a game I've always been interested in.
I have an AoS army, but I haven't played any games yet; my go-to is 40k.

Thanks! I’d be very excited to play some AoS, but if 40k is the local hotness I guess I’ll start working on building all the orcs I’ve got in boxes still. Haha I’ll probably cave and get both the new AoS orks and the 40k ones. I’ve been clamouring for new ork stuff for ages, so I definitely agree, it’s a great time to be an ork fan. I went down to the Nexus the other day, it looks like a really great spot. It’s mercifully close to where I live too, so I’ll definitely be making weekly pilgrimages there once we can play in person again. Regarding Adeptus Titanicus, I’m probably going to cave and buy some of those eventually…the lure of big stompy robots is strong. So down the road I’d be down to play that!

I was talking to Mike yesterday (the owner of Nexus) and he says when we get to phase 2 in a couple weeks, we can have a limited amount of gaming in the back room again. Need phase 3 to get our tournies going again... but we're in the home stretch!

That's exciting! I just got my first dose of the vaccine over the weekend. I'm more than ready to get back into face to face gaming. Nothing beats playing in person. Also...I just ordered the Adeptus Titanicus starter box...I really wanted those stompy robots. Even if there is only one other person playing it, I want to get into that, it just looks too cool not to give it a try. Now I just need to add that to my deep backlog of hobby stuff to work on.

I like having that subtle pressure in place, it motivates me. Knowing that I'm going to play a game will more often that not help give me the push I need to build and paint everything in time for a tourney / game. Now I just need to read the book and figure out what titan legion(s) I'm into so I can plan out a colour scheme.

Hello!
I'm also fairly new to the area as a gamer, and I've found it's a pretty great environment for a new/casual player.
I have a 40k tau army that I could dust off at any moment, and I'm in the midst of building a couple more for AoS. My beasts of chaos are ready to go (though not quite fully painted). But surely the rest will go a lot quicker than those tzaangors..
I played a lot of underworlds when I lived in edmonton during seasons 1 and 2, but sadly haven't quite nailed down a play group here in kingston. A few others have expressed interest though, and I'm really looking forward to getting back into that.
Also woohoo orks. It's one of those armies I'll likely never play, but I do love seeing them on the table.

I'm always down for underworlds and AoS! When things open up I'd be happy to play some games of that and help get anyone else into it that is interested. I love beasts of chaos for AoS, but I've never played against anyone that had them as their army. I'm 100% down for a game when it is safe to meet up.

I too have orruks for AoS. Ironjawz, and I plan to try to get some of the newer guys when they are out. I also have an order for the direchasm set for underworlds. I have one warband already out together and painted up, although I have never actually played underworlds yet.
Anyway, welcome to the community!
