www.warhammer-community.com/2021/06/23/warhammer-is-unmissable-heres-everything-you-need-to-know/There you go. I'll admit, I'm tempted, if for no reason other than that exclusive Orruk model. I already have a Megaboss, but that one looks so cool. The service is $60USD for a year, which if google isn't lying to me, comes to about $75CDN (rounded up). Seeing as how the regular Megaboss is $50, that means that if I was to do this for mostly the model, that's $25 for the rest. Something I'll have to think about, hahaha. Downside is that the models aren't shipped until the anniversary of your subscription start date.

Looks interesting. But there is a part that says if you are already a subscriber to the app you will need to upgrade to this to get the free model and such.

Ah, I completely missed that. Sorry. I'll remove the other post.

Tho if you upgrade you get the free model in 9 months rather then 12. And if you do the year subscription you get some other gift. It doesn't say what.
I'll do it. It's not much more then the app now and I get warhammer animation. Win win lol

I am interested to see the animation if I'm being honest.

I mean, if you think about the fact it includes a warhammer app subscription as well at whatever the monthly is on that, it's actually solid value imo. I'm tempted already, the only thing that's held me back from purchasing the app subscription is lack of a digital-only codex option (and the fact the main army I play doesn't have a 9th ed book yet)

I'm really tempted too since you get the animation + app + model for a solid price.
Unfortunately I doubt I would use either model in game since the Vindicare looks pretty big and I don't have an Orruk army to make use of the Warboss...though he could still be used in 40K I guess.

I agree. But I'd pick the vidicare to give me incentive to practice painting so I'd be able to do it up nice lol

Honestly both apps are already almost this price, and the new AoS app pricing will be equivalent to the 40k app for certain makes ALL the other content essentially free (assuming you play both games and would value the app services)
I have to say this, when they first announced all the animated content was going on a sub service I was worried they would completely overvalue it and it would turn out to be bad.
Glad to see I was mistaken.

Meh, I dunno. I really don't think that I actually... what's that? An exclusive mini you say?
In all honesty I'm more than a bit surprised at the value on offer here. I would have guessed twice the price to start with, and an offer of a couple bucks off if you bundled in the existing apps.
The cynic in me is wondering what the price will be in a few years, if this does well and the disastrous launch of the 40k app is only a faint memory. But don't mind me, I'm just annoyed that the season 1 underworlds warbands were $35 and now it's season 4, and I guess they sell, cause suddenly they're $50.
The "free" mini for a year's sub is just a bit obnoxious to me, and that's purely because my favourite part of streaming services is the ability to drop or resub whenever I want with no penalty. Clever bastards.
Before the announcement my plan was to wait a few months for the content to build, sub for as long as it took to binge the shows I cared to see, drop and repeat later on down the line. Now I'm debating giving this a serious go, and wondering when GW became smarter than disney...

well since I already subscribe to the 40k app, adding an extra $2 a month for everything else seems like a no brainer to me (plus apparently they're throwing in an additional gift if I upgrade? ok!)
so I'll be definitely signing up!
(and I never thought I actually would bother)

Ya this is a really weird move for GW. By linking a limited edition model to a service you are really opening a can of worms. Does any one remember the limited marine with disintegration gun? could only use it if you "had the model" was crazy powerful etc.... Just saying if you start putting out models locked to think that end up with their own rules there is a problem, if it's a cool alt pose model then I'm down with it but it seems like if you are trying to sell subscriptions... What really worries me is the "Weekly in-house Warhammer hobby shows" or potential for "steamed games" there is so much great content on YouTube /Twitch that is free I'm not really sure how GW can break in, and if they have trouble with that I'm not sure the lengths they will go.... remember all the lovely animation that got C&D letter to fuck off. I really don't like the idea of GW having legal ground to say that someone's hobby channel is now negatively affecting revenue steams.
Overall GW went to ambitious in my mind, The pricing, without the model, is also pretty crazy... $75 you are getting into a service like Disney+, which this most certainly is not. They don't have a catalogue of hundreds of hours of animation, they should have tied in the app and some extras for $1.99 and then partnered with Netflix, amazon or some one to launch a super solid set of series. give it 10 years then pull your IP back to a self sustaining platform aka what Disney did, once it had some depth.
I'll give them a year to see what they can actually do I see this collapsing pretty quickly

I'm honestly impressed. They are giving more per price point than I thought they would. I am curious to see how many shows they're launching with. I know it says "Warhammer+ will launch with the first episodes of Angels of Death and Hammer and Bolter, and new animations are set to arrive almost every Wednesday." I hope that's not it.

While 75 seems steep. For anyone to has the app they are paying about 50ish a year already.
So for 25 ish they are getting anouther app, a model, videos and some undisclosed gift.
