Chaos Space Marines and Chaos Daemons in the same army? What a novel concept! I wonder why they never tried that before...

well... I'm.... well I don't really know what to say: www.goonhammer.com/war-zone-charadon-the-book-of-fire-review-chaos/So if you're like me, excited to run Bel'akor's new faction which lets you combine csm and daemons, you have to be aware that there are some pretty massive restrictions to doing so including: - Belakor has to be the warlord - you can NOT bring another prince, or any greater daemons - NO daemon engines... like at all - you lose legion traits and daemonic loci - you cannot bring a second unit of any god before you have one of EACH god in the army (so you MUST have a completely mixed force) Given Daemons rely heavily on their exalted greater daemons to do anything, this is a big deal. CSM daemon engines (including a disco-lord who is a....sigh... daemon engine), and lets face it, the daemon infantry ranges from good to downright horrible... but at least it's finally a list that forbids you from wasting points on a soul grinder, so there's that. Now there are some tricks with the noctis discipline, and having units have -1 to hit outside of 12" is really nice, and Belakor is a downright beast.... plus some solid strats in there. ... but I tend to agree with Goonhammer here that really you'd be way better off bringing Belakor as an HQ unit in a daemon army where he's not the warlord and you just take all the normal cool greater daemons etc. Will I try his mixed special force? well yeah sure I will. I got the models I might as well. But I think he's going to probably live in a daemon force. Now once the daemon dex comes out and ensures that I can only have one greater daemon per detachment (once I've finished raging about this) his mixed force will probably be just fine compared to the solely daemons version. For now though, it seems slightly "meh"... but I will try to make something out of it, and I already ordered the damn book lol
