Seeing lots of hints start to surface that Tyranids might be one of the next Codexes revealed to be on the horizon. The stream reveal this weekend has been labelled Octarius Mission Briefing. This month's White Dwarf heavily featuring Hive Fleet Leviathan vs Salamanders in "Flashpoint Octarius" www.warhammer-community.com/2021/07/05/nids-and-nostalgia-reign-supreme-in-white-dwarf-466/GW even appears to hint in the article that Octarius is the next major focus point coming up, and could heavily feature Orks and Tyranids facing off.

hmmm... a codex... or maybe part of the new campaign book?
I'm hoping codex, as I'd rather not have to buy a campaign book if I don't have to (and I'm already forced to buy the 2nd Chadron book if I want to run Bel'akor)
But any new nid stuff is always exciting.... it'd be more exciting if I didn't have half a dozen projects on the go right now...lol
Showed my wife that link and she's convinced Games Workshop monitors my buying habits because it always seems that there's something new I "have" to buy... she was FAR less excited about something new than I was!

Well, you've got some time to finish I'd think. I don't wanna read _too_ deep into the rumors yet, but with Grey Knights and Thousand Sons confirmed to be coming first, at current pace of releases that would lock them in for.... Oct...ober....

Book two of the current campaign is coming out soon. I for some reason think is book 2 of 3. It would be nice to get a campaign that is not Human related. Nids vs orks sounds Awesome! Those would be some scary Genestealers.

You can equip the larger bioforms with Synaptic links that allow them to buff units with the ability depending on whic unit gets the upgrade (innate cover, -1 leadership and -1 combat attrition test aura) etc.
What's interesting is that they're having it so creatures with synaptic links can daisy chain off each other. So if you have S.Link critters A and B within 12' of each other, you can give B's buff to a unit that is in 12' of A but not B.
It's practically the opposite of the classic castle setup where you have a bunch of buffing characters in a huddle. Depending on what abilities the S.Links can give Tyranid units, they could be a massive headache to deal with. First turn a unit gets shooting or movement buffs. Next turn since they're about to charge/be charged, it gets swapped out for a melee boost.

That's cool. A brood lord with some genestealer will be hard to take out before they can reach combat.

hmmm that broodlord ability is really great... the neurothrope? not so much lol... -1 leadership doesn't do a whole lot unless you can stack (ie: grisley trophies and tormenters for the DE)
I'm interested to see where this goes
...but the idea of buying another campaign book for four pages of rules is not filling me with happiness...

I mean Nids at Xmas doesn't seem that crazy given there is a xeno codex then.

sadly, getting some "get you by" rules tends to make it look as though nids might be a long way off
(see daemons & csm with book of fire)
but I want to be wrong
