www.warhammer-community.com/2021/07/09/discover-the-all-new-kill-team-in-this-brutal-cinematic-trailer/I figured I'd post this here, despite there not really being any local interest in Kill Team sadly. (If this does end up being a new Kill Team, I may get the book anyway, as a way to play with my friend) It's a cinematic trailer, so no real retails, but here is the interesting thing: It involves the Death Korps of Krieg. Even the article points this out. Does this mean a possible plastic release of Death Korps? From a lore standpoint, it does make sense. I mean, Cadia no longer exists, so having Cadian troopers as the basic Imperial guard type will eventually be weird, as they will eventually all die out. It could also explain why so many kits for the Korps were removed from Forgeworld. Anyway, it mentions a launch box, and shows Death Korps of Krieg and Ork Kommandos (Come to think of it, aren't they currently finecast? Possible plastic Kommandos?) in the trailer. More info in a live stream tomorrow.

Kantreal-pattern equipment that the cadians use is the standard, so i don't see the kits being replaced.
If it's plastic kriegers, i'll probably get a box but i don't see kill teams taking off locally. Nobody seems to like skirmish games, which is disappointing.

Yeah, I suppose I got ahead not myself there with saying the Death Korps would replace anything.
And I like skirmish games. I can understand not wanting to get into a different game with different models and all, but Kill Team is literally the same models as regular 40K, so I really don't know why so many people are opposed to it. I mean, it's a great way to make a small squad of a faction you normally wouldn't play.
Oh well.
Also, it turns out my friend has decided not to get into Warhammer at all, so I'm left high and dry, so to speak. I'm slowly making a 40K army, and it would have been nice to play small scale games of Kill Team with him.

There are some local people who play kill team (Matt immediately comes to mind) so I'm sure if you were looking to try the game you'd be able to find some takers.

They've already officially confirmed new kill team edition and a kill team box set will be revealed today on the stream at 1pm EST.
At this point it seems either extremely likely or essentially confirmed that the rumoured Plastic Death Korps and Orks vs Guard box set is indeed the same item, and that item is the new kill team starter box.

If the rules are accessible, I might look in to it a bit - I am curious as to what will make it a better skirmishing choice than Stargrave (which has no mini affiliations and had planned on using my Orks for) or Infinity (which I have already bought in to)
I guess we will find out in a few hours...

I liked the current version of kill team. It was pretty fun, and it's nice to be able to play a few quick games in a night.
My folly was that I built a team of chaos space marines and wow they were pretty horrible at everything. One of the upgrades they pay for is a buff if you roll a 2-6, and instant death on a 1. I rolled that 1 three games in a row. I paid a CP so I could start the game short 1 expensive model who also happened to be one of my limited number of specialists. Mmmm feels real good GW.
Then local interest pretty much dried up, so it was hard to find games anyway. Personally I wasn't all that sad mostly because I already have too many games I have to try to find room for. There are so many table top games I see and think "ohh I could play that!" But before the hype sets in I try to ask, "when?" Most times I realized I don't get out enough to play what I'm most interested, and already invested it.
Seriously though, whoever still has a boner for "lol it's chaos! Everything should be random and potential useless!" needs to get the hell out of game design.

This was my issue, KT was neat, and a good way to get sucked back into 40k.....but if I wanted my skirmish game itch scratched I already had Infinity, MCP, Batman, Bolt Action, and Test of Honour competing with it for my attention.

Yup. That right there is how you move some rule books. Actual interest in kill team not required.
On the plus side, those new books are about to become dirt cheap on the secondary market for anyone not interested in the models. Theoretically. It's hard to imagine not being interested in those models.

The terrain looks great. The models look great. Do I want it? Yes. Do I need it? No. Am I eventually going to find a way to own this? Eh, maybe? Is that Grot with Grapnel Hook giving me life? Very much so!
As much as I will lament the loss of customizable Orks (very much not a fan of the idea of mono-pose for anything non-character) having a mix of the different designs and generations in my ranks does kind of make me happy on some strange level... Just an absolute hodge-podge of Orks.

Today's article has mh interest
Building kill team rules tgat aren't derivative of 40k is an unexpected turn, as are alternating activations

I'm originally from Belleville which has a fairly decent scene of KT players. My gaming group there is 6ish players plus at least another 10ish around town. Killteam is a great game and ill be snagging this box for sure. I already have a few teams built and good to go (depending on what models are still allowed lol)
If we get a few people playing here organizing some decently sized events would be super easy.
