I'll probably get some flak for saying this, but I kind of prefer the older model, appearance wise.
Also, in the last picture, it shows him with some regular Grey Knights. I know he has a raised base, but he still looks huge compared to them. Hopefully it's camera trickery, and not a case of him being wildly out of scale with the rest of them.

He is definately primaris sized but i old school armour. Its actually even more extreeme than the DW Veteran kit (who are sort of half way bewteen old marines and primaris sized)
Whats going to be really weird is that the rumours indicate GK wont be getting any new plastics for their existing terminator/strike squad kits....which will just leave weirdly outsized charachters leading an army of short marines.

I just assumed space marines were like orks. The bestest and the strongest always become the biggest.

Or, GW can sell it that the Grey Knights are "so stoic" they don't need Primaris marines to bolster their ranks. Until it's late in 9th et/ the cusp of 10th and they get new kits after a canon catastrophe leaves them fairly wiped out and in need of some new recruits.
I like the new model, it has some motion to it. The blade very much looks like the "fight fire with fire" approach rather than the old one which could have just been a regular old sword that had some archaic runes carved into the face. The new one looks legitimately cursed in my opinion.

I'll be wanting to get my hands on that set, seeing as how I'm making a Thousand Sons force with a friend.

Welp, looks like it'll be the Codex only for me, that box set is hot worthless, even for the new Master, which can be kitbashed from the Exalted Sorcerer kits out there already.
This all but guarantees they'll be an HQ choice in an already VERY crowded slot in Thousand Sons lists. I may have to bring multiple Patrols just to have access to the amount of HQ slots necessary to run them all!

It’s already been confirmed he’s a HQ back in chapter approved. That’s the only new model Tsons are getting.
I’m getting the box as it’ll bring me up to 15 termies and another full squad of tzaangors. Though 30 unbuilt, but I’ll wait to see if they change the banner and weapon options before I build any.

Honestly I think the issue is their need to balance the combat patrol boxes w these boxes. Notice that Piety and Pain had 0 overlap with the Drukhari or SoB Combat Patrol boxes for example. But yeah, unless I was a GK player who really wanted to start an army and could line up the divestment of the TSons portion Im not seeing alot of value.

The only bonus is what Danny posted. If you enjoy Tzaangors and wanted more terminators then yeah, it'd be a decent deal depending on price and whether or not you can dump the other half of the box.

It would make sense from GW's perspective to do a dual-codex launch on two lineups/factions that are getting little in the way of new models from a business/sales perspective. It could also mean another faction could be getting lined up behind this/these releases to follow quite quickly.
