well GW... you kinda tricked me to purchase the Belakor campaign book (instant regrets).... will I fall for it again because my poor nids have a chance at getting new rules... will I be that gullible to only find 5 pages of meh rules afterwards? ...probably. Probably will work again. www.warhammer-community.com/2021/10/11/war-zone-octarius-book-1-turns-your-biggest-bioforms-into-a-nightmare-for-enemy-characters/So the previewed buffs seem decent until you think about the existing tyranid dex: yay boneswords can ignore invuls! ( too bad they suck compared to all the other options for a tyrant) yay primes can make warriors reroll to hit in combat! ( ummm primes are terrible and warriors killing something in combat is dubious unless they get significantly better) oooh my warlord can switch warlord traits every round! ( well the nid warlord traits kinda suck and you are forced to give up your warlord trait to have an adaptive physiology on a unit which is WAY better) So will this improve the situation for tyranids? I'll reserve judgement at this time.

The bar is low for sure. Part of me wants to believe this is part of GW beta-testing new rules/concepts for Tyranids and anything successful from this book will get rolled into the Codex when it comes.
But yeah I'd expect like 2 pages of rules and 2 pages of strats and that's basically it.

They have to stop putting out rules for factions that do not have a new core codex. Why on earth are they pushing out a new mechanic for a faction that is still using old rules. All it leads to is frustration. I think shannon hit the nail on the head with the Belakor example. This put out a new way to play demons, and probably balanced it around what was going to come in 2022 so now you have a weaker than normal faction that is limping along for 8 months?
I know until I see a review of what the new supplements actually have in them and how much is actually useful, I'm pretty content to use google to find a copy of the 3-4 pages you need for your faction. GW is doing this to themselves with weird release orders and schedules and people are tried of paying $60 for 4-6 pages.

Man, a sweet buff to conscripts. If I had the time, I'd run soo many blobs of them. Just fill the board with bad models.

This all but confirms for me that we are NOT getting either Astra or Nids in December as part of the dual-codex-launch.
Referencing my handy-dandy spreadsheet of codex ages, and omitting Astra/Nids, that leaves the next oldest Imperial codex as Custodes, and the oldest Xenos codex as Craftworlds (who need a huge model refresh, unlikely for December), and Tau (who need a significant ground-up rework like Necrons, but little in the way of model support, possible?)
As soon as the Black Templar hype dies down, we'll get some tidbits and rumors dropping about Dec hopefully.

December will be Genestealer Cult and Custodes.
Tau is coming early 2022 along with craftworlds

Tau always comes in just before clubs. Ya hopefully we see tau 2 and or 3rd week of Jan to give a month to get tau ready for clubs. It might be tight but they can only really get better.
