I do want to go. I'll just keep an eye on the situation. I am already going Wednesday evening, so will do that as a test run. I know I'm likely being paranoid, but I still worry. I did already pay, so might as well go.
Odd question, and not at all related to this, but since the game requires two players, we would need an even number of people to join. I'm sure it has come up before, either with AoS or 40K, but what happens if there is an odd number of players, and thus a person "extra" In a sense. What is done so that they aren't left out. I mean, it would suck to join a tournament only to have to sit on the sidelines.

I'm the T.O, so whenever there's an odd number I just sit out and run the tourney... that's how I've been doing things for many years now.

This will be my first game for 3rd edition, and ever NOT against my best friend. I hope we all get a chance to play!! I've played maybe 4 times in 2 years. It would be really cool to see a bunch of games going on! I feel safe as well, using all my own gear, vaxxed up and with a mask. As previously mentioned, safer than any store or restaurant

I'm hoping we finished with an even number of players! more players the better! I've played 2 games so far of the new edition and its been a lot of fun.
Looking forward to getting to play against other people and maybe other armies, though its looking like a lot of Stormcast haha

It's a new player tournament. Of course there's plenty of stormcast, ha. None of those decent rules and a well-supported model line for me though. Beasts of Chaos forever!
I'm working on building my kitbashed shaggoth this week, but I lost most of my hobby time this weekend, and most of this coming saturday. Will be tight. Definitely wont get painted. Will see if he makes it in.
That said, are we submitting lists to be checked? I'm assuming honour system for a friendly tournament? Less work for shannon too.

Cant wait to see the Shaggoth. As for the lists. All the events in town are all honour system so you can bring a list with you if you want to share it. Having it in Battlescribe or the Age of Sigmar app is just as good.

The only tourney where I have people submit lists is our 40k club championships as it's a 2 day competitive event. All other tournaments are the honor system. Basically if a mistake is found in your list the day of, we say "must have been an honest mistake" and you correct it and move forward.
We're about as chilled out for tournies as we are for regular casual play lol... with the exception of start and end times for games, as it's integral for the operation of the tournament.
on that note, please remember our DICE ROLL time is 9 AM... so be there before that! (by 8:45 at the latest if you can... as then we can get matchups sorted!) doors will be open to let everyone in at 8:30

Just a reminder about a few things that people might forget that we're using this tourney:
Realm Rules from GHB:
- you gain an additional Victory Point per battle round if you can slay a Monster - at the start of the 3rd battle round the player who goes 2nd can pick one objective and remove it from the battlefield! - every wizard in the game has access to Metamorphosis. This casts on a 5+ and gives a chosen Hero the Monster keyword! - Command Ability that allows a Monster to be treated as it they had suffered 0 damage - new Core Battalions, Alpha-Beast Pack and Hunters of the Heartland - new grand strategies and battle tactics (there's a bunch so not listing here)
So make sure before the tourney you at least give these a read so you know what to expect and the stuff that you might want to use!

Yep... then you have to remove a different objective, not one of the prime ones... we're using one mission that includes prime objectives and the other two do not.
Missions for this tourney (using the most friendly deployments because mostly new players)
SAVAGE GAINS (hold objectives which vary in value according to where they are on the map)
POWER STRUGGLE (have to hold objectives for multiple turns)
FERAL FORAY (similar to 40k scoring, with the added bonus of being able to raid your opponent's objectives)

I'm disappointed Metamorphosis can't be used on an enemy hero to score a VP

I'm guessing you can turn a hero into a monster to get monster rampage rule?

That and probably missiony stuff like monsters scoring more.

Just gotta watch out that hero doesn't get killed the turn they're a monster. Give away an extra victory point.

- at the start of the 3rd battle round the player who goes 2nd can pick one objective and remove it from the battlefield! Looks at list built around 5 inch movement This is fine 😝 Oh, actual rules question though, how does the command ability to treat a monster as having zero wounds interact with yndrasta’s ability to add 10 to the number of wounds the monster has suffered when using the bracket table?
