Seems like a good solution to me, ranking up 20mm bases was always a pain. I'll probably do a mix of rebasing on new bases and movement trays with spacers in them.
For round bases 25mm rounds will fit nice, but 32mm rounds will be a pain.

Have seen movement trays with spacers beteeen slots to compensate for the increase in size.
I am very leery of this whole thing snd expect the usual problems GW product runs in to - scalpers, excessive updates, fomo practices, etc...
If it ends up being a stable and not-crap system (read: not loaded down with bullshit like AoS and 40k) which everyone else ends up playing, I will give it a shot...
But my expectations are set to "bitter and jaded"
We will see how things play out.

If it ends up being a stable and not-crap system (read: not loaded down with bullshit like AoS and 40k) I remember the days of measuring "wheeling movement" in WHFB with my Skaven which were a hot nightmare to get into their movement trays in the first place. All the way to the WHFB tournaments where Dark Elves were allowed 3000 points worth of models to Tomb Kings 1500 because of game imbalances. It'll always be a system of imbalances, but at least GW is now coming out with regular updates to rules, clarifications on points, etc. etc. They're far more engaged than they ever have been in producing a good quality game and actually listening to feedback.

Wait now, what's this about Dark Elves being allowed twice the points of Tomb Kings? I never played the system, so this baffles me. How does such a thing happen? What rule allows that?

Their book was so terribly imbalanced to other books that many TO's banded together and houseruled the point spread across the armies in WHFB in some attempt to balance the game because it was so terribly skewed. No real rule allowed for it, there were just some books that were absolutely amazing, and others were such hot trash that to give the hot trash a fighting chance they got "bonus" points in army construction and others got docked points.

Ya WHFB had some major issues with codex balance and there were some wild things they did to try to fix the game without reprinting or altering the rules. I remember at the end of 7th the point balance equation they used. I think the biggest I remember was for a 2000 pt game demons could bring 1800 pts and woodelves could bring 2600 pts.
It was a wild time. I'm hoping with what 40k/AoS rules updates have shown they will do better this time

Good
• Empire of Man • Dwarfen Mountain Holds • Kingdom of Bretonnia • Wood Elf Realms • High Elf Realms
Evil
• Orc & Goblin Tribes • Warriors of Chaos • Beastmen Brayherds • Tomb Kings of Khemri
Not supported but getting launch rules:
• Dark Elves • Skaven • Vampire Counts • Daemons of Chaos • Ogre Kingdoms • Lizardmen • Chaos Dwarfs
Happy they are also supporting the other armies not directly involved in the narrative. While they give a lore explanation for why they are not involved, it seems like a very happy “coincidence” that the factions not being re-released are all currently well supported AoS armies. I don’t know if there is anything you would want from 8th Ed for any of the “unsupported” factions that is not currently available for AoS.
