I guess I get it. Put a bunch of mini out of stock, hope to build up some numbers then run the limited run, rinse and repeat. I do see that they all seem to be special characters so it shouldnt have a major affect on most armies. I just hope this isn't a the model comes out of the vault with "new rules" and they try to make a feeding frenzy on over tuned characters.

Well looking at most of these models, most of them are older minis and arent in the new clampshell packages so don't have a place on the shelves of most GW stores. I'm thinking they'll just be rotating old characters and minis that are finecast. Though I'm surprised to see watch captain Artemis on that list since he's the newest model there.

I mean, I definitely understand why you wouldn't want to keep something always in production. Don't want to have an entire production sitting months at a time because you didn't need to make more because you sat on all your Chaos codexes or something.
I agree with Jordan that my fear would be creating a FOMO situation where each time they bring something back you HAVE to have it because of new updates or whatever. I really hate FOMO tactics.

Honestly they wrote themselves into a corner with so many SKUs, and with no plans to legends/get rid of some of this stuff, this makes sense.
As they noted in the article theyve been doing this for the Middle Earth games for ages.
The FOMO piece will really be shown by how long these rotations last (ie are they avail for order for a month, 6 months, a year, etc)

So I just looked at some of the models on the list on their webstore and most are listed saying "Usually ships within 180 days" so I don't think they've been selling many of these.
Also FOMO is such a common sales tactic these days used by many different companies, and even youtubers selling shirts or bundles for a month or so.

Yeah its not like ppl were lining up to get a Capt Lysander model thats older than they are.
Pedro Kantor is an interesting one to see fall by the wayside....but I guess Crimson Fists were more of an iconic thing when I was a kid than they are now.

makes sense some of the old kits are going to move out of the way... GW has to do something to deal with the production/supply issues they've been having (well to be honest everyone is having) and with giant model refreshes happening, makes sense to retire some old ones for a while.

Yeah honestly these are all character minis that if you _really_ wanted them cus you just super-love a certain chapter you maybe want, but you could easily build/convert your own playable character model from other kits without issue.

Yea, after going through the list of models, it definitely feels better. Definitely stuff that just does not sell. I'd expect this list to expand rather quickly.

Ya when Alissa was putting her Warp spiders together you get the joy of the spurs having the stamp if 1993! it was a weird choice to not upgrade them

Ya when Alissa was putting her Warp spiders together you get the joy of the spurs having the stamp if 1993! it was a weird choice to not upgrade them Esp when they had to design a plastic deathspinner and warp jump generator anyway for the new Autarch kit. There is a rumour of a 2nd wave of eldar models set for late this yera or next year that will have Warp Spiders, Swooping Hawks, Fire Dragons, and Strikign Scorpions (with the last 2 possibly being a combo kit) But the concerns of sticker shock seem kind of moot when you compare the "big" eldar release to say the Ork release last year.

At least it's only old ass space marine special characters. That alone makes me think it's less about FOMO, and more actual logistics. Plus, they're old ass space marine special characters, I wasn't going to buy them anyway.
Oh, and I'm betting they have redone the warp spiders. They're just going to make you wait for them.
