A nice palate cleanser.
Kill Teams is worth a try. I'm like the first guy to dump on GW for their bad games but Kill Team is probably one of, if not the best, games they've put out. Importantly the buy-in is negligible since all you need is a single squad of dudes and you're off to the races.
Just ignore the uh... the shapes and colours thing. Nobody knows why that... exists.

No painting requirements, just make sure it's built!
Yeah the sticks are weird. I dunno. I find somewhat intuitive in the end.

Looking at the Kill Team Balance Dataslate
Does the Space Marine and Craftworld changes mean the size of each of the affected fire teams is increased by 1?
Ie I can take a fire team of 6 Rievers or 5 Dire Avengers?

Correct - and I haven't actually played a fireteams list but if I understand correctly (someone correct me if I don't) since eldar Kill Teams have 2 Fire Teams each, you actually have two extra operatives!
Space marines just get the one tho  |

What exactly do you need to just play a game of it minus a team? I'd be doing talons of the emperor until I can get my pirate elves painted up.

That's actually a good question. There's counters and stuff. The measuring wedges are fairly optional since the correspond directly to inches. Matt in here? Is anything provided or do we gotta bring all our own baubles?

I’m in. I haven’t yet played a game of kill team 2.0 but I played a lot of warcry and the alternating activations made it probably the most tactically interesting of the GW games I’ve played, so I’m excited about new kill team. I’ve registered and I’m looking forward to it
