So this has been out for a bit, I was wondering if people had tried it. Initial reports seem very positive, it doesn't appear to warp the game in negative ways and isn't as horribly swingy and unfair as the old maelstrom (although that was still very popular in some circles).
We have one sitting on the wargaming table that hasn't been used yet but I'm looking forward to trying it out probably with my CG list

Ive played 3 games with it so far, and I have loved every single one of them.
The reduction in pre-game admin, the reduction in ongoing tracking (there is still some tracking, but its not as fussy), and the ability to sub out cards/ditch cards that you have no chance of achieving all made for enjoyable games.
It is my preferred way to play casual/pickup games now over using the GT mission pack.
You need to be prepared for a little bit of everything, one turn you may be all about actions and the next your trying to kill their warlord

I'm pretty over GT packs and solving secondaries this seems like the solution!

I'm very interested in getting back into 40k with the tempest deck. I loathe building lists around secondaries, and the reviews I've read make it sound exactly how I'd like 40k to play.

I'd be keen to try it as well... thus far I've only heard good things.

I haven't heard of this yet but it sounds dope.
-goes and watches a couple videos on it-
So, maybe someone can explain like I'm an idiot. You get two identical 10 card decks and you try and do secondaries as you draw them? Am I getting that right? Or is a deck 20 cards and you divide it between you and your opponent so you have no idea who has which cards?
Trying to grasp this. It sounds great for pickup games for sure but it's just not clicking yet.

Ok, I watched Winter SEO video on it and he said you can share one pack/deck between you and your opponent or something so I was confused.

One set of Tempest comes with 2 Secondary decks, plus one of each other deck.

One set of Tempest comes with 2 Secondary decks, plus one of each other deck. Just enough for one game! It's a bit pricey (GW obv) but I think worth. And it wouldn't be hard to make one!

So 1 of all the decks + 2 of the secondary decks + 6 object8ve markers

Committing a little thread necromancy here, anyone whose bought this have some games played with it? I'm kind feeling like the GT/Nachmund meta has gone a little stale and wondering if this had any staying power with those who've used it.

I've only played one game with it but I think it's super fun. I've also watched a lot of battle reports using it and it does add a fun random mechanic to the game to change it up. Obviously is can be a little unbalanced sometimes with card draws but that's part of the thing you sign up for using these types of decks.

Sigmar and now 30k hype has been gobbling up 40k time unfortunately. My next game will use it for sure whenever that is lol
