A place for cataloging all the fights my legionaries get up to in the Age of Darkness. Played a 2k game with my SoH against Kalen's Imperial Fists. Mission was Blood Feud Night fighting was in effect. Here are some pics Deployment I had deployed first and was all set to go, but Kalen decided that seizing would be a better idea. (the plasma cannon was a proxy for another lascannon in the pic.) Big 20 man units are hilarious. That dreadnought couldn't wait to get into the fray. He took a lot of fire first turn but he got there! Ripped open a land raider as well! The boys watching on Justaerin and Abby teleport in to cause some havoc. They went into Fafnir's command squad and did a lot of damage. Overall, a fun game. Night fighting was incredibly impactful, keeping me alive first turn with -1 to hit and rage restrictions. The negative 1 leadership also came up a couple times, specifically when Kalen's terminators deepstruck next to my dread, who caused a pinning wound. Without night fighting, the terminators would not have failed the pinning check and subsequent leadership test the next turn. Pretty much kept them out of the fight. Very excited for more games!

Both armies look sick! I'm pumped to get a game in eventually. Was the dreadnought a one man army? Looks like it did some work.

Yup, dreads are really good. Maybe even a bit overtuned if I'm honest. They just soak up so much firepower!
There may be a place in lists for drop prodding graviton gun squads specifically to take them out.

Both armies look sick! I'm pumped to get a game in eventually. Was the dreadnought a one man army? Looks like it did some work. I played a 1K game against a friend who brought a Levi, it was pretty much impossible to deal with for my world eaters who were light on anti tank. That said, the dreads make interesting list building decisions come up. Yes it is hard to kill and can put out obscene damage but it’s also a huge chunk of points, takes away from being able to bring line units that can score points, and it’s a huge points sink your opponent can just use a reaction on to give whatever you shoot a 5++. This is speaking from not a ton of experience, but they fill an interesting niche. I ended up winning the game despite having no answer to the dread off early objective scoring

A leviathan at 1k seems like it might be bordering on invulnerable. You probably only can afford one good anti-tank unit with the capacity to kill that thing (at best) so your best bet might be to just eat around it lol

Yeah. So far my 12th legion are showing an exceptional ability to clear away line units so I think I may just be leaning in on hordes of chain axe wielding maniacs that take an early lead on aggressive objective play and mostly die by later turns while hopefully sitting on a big enough lead to ride to the win.
EDIT: also, caraphractii are great at insuring against being tabled because those bastards just don’t die ever

Another Fists VS SoH showdown! This one a very close game. Came down to Slay the Warlord. Praetor, his marines, and a contemptor round a corner on a Land Raider filled with Terminators Took some wounds doing it, but the terminators are no more. On to open up that LR. Heavy Bolters stare down some Plasma Support boys. And the Plasma stares back. Reactions make the game so engaging for the player not currently active! They also really make you think about your actions as the active player, since getting shot at by Imperial Fist HB in their turn is no fun. Bonus glamour shot of this heroic sgt who killed a raming rhino with a Death or Glory blow! He then went on to lead his squad to my deployment zone after crushing a SoH tactical squad and scoring a mighty 7 points.

More SoH vs IF action. 1500pts, Blood Fued, Ambush deployment. Night fighting in action, so gotta dim those lights! Imperial fists holed up in a large ruined structure, about to be caught on both sides by the traitorous Sons of Horus. Advancing under the cover of darkness Sun comes up, rhinos get popped, support squad runs away. Ended with only a couple models left on the table, but the Sons walk away victorious!

1000pts league game VS White Scars! That WS rotor squad there did WORK The dreadnought got his can handed to him by a Thunderhammer wielding Preator. Three rounds of combat and the dread didn't land a single hit! The sarge there stood by and watched mostly. Double ram time for that rotor squad. Rotors didn't do much straight up damage, but they were very effective at pinning my troops. A minor victory for the Sons of Horus, as the White Scar right of war really limits how many points you can score against them in any mission that involves killing their troops.

1250 League game VS World Eaters. Some traitorous infighting. A massively vertical game board at Trevor's place. Lots of cools stuff on the table The Sons of Horus deployment zone, near the ruined basilicum A rhino deftly manouvers through a ruined building after dropping off its payload of plasma wielding tacticals. The Sicaran watches from the rear. A dreadnought charging recklessly through the scaffolding towards a squad of Red Butchers The World Eaters' Praetor stares down the rhino that just blew up his ride. Before getting rammed mercilessly three times haha A route with the victory going to the Warmaster. Not a single World Eater left to tell his raving brothers of their folly.

Fun game, not so fun for the World Eaters hahaha. Between a bunch of bad saving throws and being too broke to afford rides it just wasn’t there day. Looking forward to some higher point games.
