Thanks everyone for coming out today. It was our first tourney of that size (38 players!) since I believe before covid hit. There were a few bumps on my end (sorry!) but was glad we could pull off a big tourney again!
Next one is club champs - Feb 18th/19th weekend!

Regardless, I am looking forward to getting back into 40k and coming to Club Champs again this year

I dropped by nexus on Saturday and wow the back room was packed. looked awesome.
question regarding club Champs, it has a full painted requirement correct? I might actually have enough painted to enter lol.

However a portion of your total score is based off the hobby side of the army so things like extra skills, basing display board. Hope that helps and hopefully we will see you there

Yep clubs is always family day weekend... Cuz I need the Monday to recover after running that two day tourney! (Rather than immediately go back to work)
And everything in the army must be painted to a minimum standard for clubs three colors is the standard rule... There will be a player pack in advance which will have all the details

You can also look in the player pack for 2022 which has the rubric in there to use as a guide for 2023. I print it off and keep it handy when putting pieces together to make sure there's box checking happening.

Something I'm slightly curious about is,I roughly remember last Club Champs someone brought up the idea of us bringing terrain and designing a table up thematically to score some points to our overall score or it was an award and I was wonder if that's a possibility this upcoming one.

That was me.
The premise is that you could sign up and commit to bringing a table of terrain. At the end of the second day, each player gets a slip of paper to vote for their favorite table. Could do a 1st, 2nd, 3rd favourite, or just one.
I've seen other events give out a small award for best table, or it could award a modicum of points to best overall.

There will be an opportunity for people to do up their own tables (it was something we used to do years ago) as long as they let me know far enough in advance (ie: before I've gone and set them up!)
I'd likely have that separate from best overall, have it be it's own special thing. I'm sure I can sort out a prize for it.
