I have piles of orcs and goblins. Hoping they re-release the plastic orc Boar boys. Those are so hard to find.

It was a shame they discontinued them during AoS. If you got a pile of em, come out and get a game in. Got a table set up at my place if you want a game. 6,7, or 8th Ed.

I'm very excited for Old World, I think the base size change is nice, I'm glad we are getting some new models. I'm a bit worried that it is focusing on the Old World specifically, and hope there is at least the ability to play other armies out of the gate. I guess it must be if Tomb Kings are there.
Confusing rumours about the starter box. they initially said no box, but then I believe clarified that they meant no box with push fit models, but there will be a box with the rulebook and two armies, like most recent game releases have had.

Yeah I got worried when they said it "was a new game inspired by past editions", but so far it's looked very much like past editions.
I think the charging rules look like a nice compromise between pre-measuring and somewhat random charge distances.
I'm apprehensive to see what Magic looks like. I really love the way the 6th edition magic phase functions (until someone tries to break it), but we will see how they do the new magic.

As long as we don't end up with 8th edition magic lol. That was crazy times.

I also wonder if the board size will get smaller like their other games. The ability to do the March formation makes me think not but I guess we wait and see.

They seem to not want to alienate older players so I don't think they will. I'm not sure what Heresy does. I do know that when 8th edition 40k came out with a new "minimum size" the play testers I heard had not used the smaller board, and didn't think anyone would actually change their board size (but here we are). I don't think the march column is actually going to be that prevalent or useful as it takes like 3 turns to get into and out of, unless some special rules are going to change that.

Only times I used it in the old editions was in massive games with a huge gap between armies

If musicians give you a free reform like in 8th ed then the March will be something turn 1.

Heresy uses the old 4’x4’/6’x4’/8’x6’ table sizes. I think they will probably do the same for The Old World. I see it as Age of Sigmar’s “Horus Heresy” in that they are both “historical” to their larger counterparts.
