No need to submit lists or anything like that. This tourney is really just for fun, and to have us all get a great intro into 10th. So bring whatever you think will be fun! This actually makes it HARDER to choose!

lol... well that's fair I guess
As it's a casual intro tournament, try to bring something you'd have fun playing. Bringing the most oppressive loopholes that have been found online to really break stuff in index-infancy isn't really what this is about (plus you get literally NOTHING for winning, it's all draw prizes!) and it'd just be awesome if people brought lists that they'd have fun playing, and their opponents would have fun playing into.

I really hope I can make this! I absolutely NEED to learn 40k! I have Leviathan, a Boarding Patrol and a Combat Patrol box for Tyranid, plus 1 extra box of Tyranid Warriors!!! I need it all built for the 22nd 😅🤣 any suggestions to round it off to 2k would be really helpful! I think im sitting around 1760! 😁

I've been absolutely loving Tyrannofexes if you're looking for one monster that's 200 points worth of pretty awesome (except melee don't expect him to fight anything lol).
Acid spray and rupture cannon are both quite solid.

Second on Tyrannofex, for giving you an asset you currently lack.
You need Carnifexes, too. They've been a backbone unit for a long time; while they may not currently be The Mood, they'll always do work, and a Carnifex focused Detachment in our codex seems inevitable.

All right so got a question- we've been playing 10th so far with a modified deck of UNO cards, because the only person in the entire play circle who bought a Leviathan traded away the cards because he didn't know you needed em to play lol
I scanned the thread but didn't see a mention of em, is there a plan in mind for how to make this work without everyone necessarily owning a deck?

I was pleasantly surprised that each deck has enough for 2 players to use. I did assume GWs previous practiced would for sure be 1 per person not per table. So in the view of small miracles- nexus has 1 deck they will lone out, Levi went on sale so there should be 50ish decks in the local community now and next week the decks go on sale as a solo item. I'm guessing they are gonna be more then I want to spend but they are pretty high quality. Could be worth to 40$ to support your local store and grab it, does look like it's here to stay. On the more cheap/ DIY side the cards are such if 1 friend let's you borrow them you could photo copy at staples onto card stock maybe 4 to a page so under $20 in printing cost? In terms of deployments/mission scoring and twist it would be easy to draw them before hand so everyone is playing the same 3 games....I fear when it comes to drawing secondaries it's gets less easy to "share". The table top battles app does have 10th scoring now but it doesn't give you the full secondary rule just how to score it.

My first impulse would be to use old trash MTG cards in sleeves as backs for regular ol' printer paper with all the text on em, assuming it's allowed. I would probably lean towards this even if I could get the official ones at a good price- we did get to use the house deck today when we played at Nexus but they didn't shuffle the best.

Ya I know that there was a program that people use to use for physic power that made them print off like magic cards. I dont know the link but I think it's a site that let you build your own. Might be worth a borrow and make your own set but I do agree that GW has made it difficult to play if you don't at minium have a attack and defender secondary deck to draw from.

Just remember the app does not have a full written description of the secondary just how to score it. For example the am will say engage on all fronts - 3 pts for 3, 4 pts for 4. But does not say anything about battle shocked units not counting or units need to be more than 3" into the zone to count.

It's great that everyone is playing and the spots are full! I threw my name on the wait list for an open spot - doubt it'll happen though.
