The rats once again emerged from the underground to face some idoneth deepkin!
Turn 1 went to the deepkin who moved up and placed a ship trying to block the majority of the skaven forces in their deployment. The skaven then had stormfiends come out of a gnawhole and with the 2 that got into range were able to kill a shark!
Turn 2 the deepkin knew they had to deal with the skryre shooting ASAP and moved up and killed the warp lightning cannon and set up to charge the stormfiends. The stormfiends killed another shark who was attempting the charge then lost 4 stormfiends to some eels and a eidolon of storms! The stormfiends then proceeded to run away in true skaven fashion. On the skaven turn the claw lord knew he had to make things happen. He charged the soulrender while plague monks charged a shark and the verminlord charged the aspect of the sea. The plague monks did their job and took down the shard while the 2 characters did some work but not enough to finish their fights.
Turn 3 for the deepkin had their last shark and and some reavers take out the 20 plague monks while mostly everything else went for the verminlord. After all the charges the verminlord went down and the claw lord was at 1 wound remaining. The claw lord finished off the soulrender then ordered for the clan rats to finish some reavers in melee which they happly did. On the skaven turn the claw lord ran over to deal with the other unit of reavers and took them down by himself while the clan rats continued to sit on the middle objective and score what would turn out to be my last points of the game.
Turn 4 skaven really needed priority which they hadn’t gotten all game since they only had 2 units left but they were unsuccessful once all was said and done. The deepkin with priority were able to kill the alpha claw lord and take down the clan rats without much fuss. It was all over for the rats.
An elf victory 26-11 a fantastic game that could’ve swung in either players favour at any point with just a one or 2 different rolls!

Tough fought battle between the Blades of Khorne and Seraphon. Great moves were made on both sides including a unit of Bloodletters charging in and killing a Stegadon with a staggering 15 mortal wounds in one blow. This battle came down to the grand strats and the lizards snuck out with the 21-19 win. Thanks for the game Iain!

An excellent game between Stormcast and Nurgle yesterday. The stormcast managed to pull out a narrow victory (21-17) in the final rounds. It was a strong start with two greater demons being returned to the warp in the first two turns. There are few who can resist the charge of a reinforced fulminator unit. The newly arrived longstrike crossbows showed their worth in the first round and it only got better from there. The Nurgle demon army seems to exist in this strange space where they are elite and few in number but their save is low enough that anti-horde attacks are still able to cause a decent amount of wounds. The frog looking things are also tougher then I had thought.

In a peaceful garden, friendly devotees of nurgle happily played without a care in the world. With a horrible sound and flash of lightning, stormcast arrived out of no where and butchered them without mercy. Another peaceful community slaughtered by the evil butchers of this realm!

Another highlights was your little Skink Wizard using that Warscroll Spell that only goes off on a 12. You rolled a natural 12, and then another 6 with Primal Dice. My Bloodletters failed their 5+ Hatred of Sorcery and were blown off the table with something like 18 MWs! Epic! Khorne was not too pleased with the fancy footwork of the Bloodthirster. My General seemed focused on avoiding combat...I think there was a rather direct after action report... Thanks for hosting!

Final match ups are up! Playoffs in two weeks. If you haven't got your games in, please do so! If you can't connect/play with your opponent, please message me and I will find you a make up game.
Because of the amount of players who have dropped out, I've had to improvise with the playoff matchups/seeding.
First overall (which will either be Kevin or Derek at this point), will have a first round bye and then the rest of the matchups will looks like this: 2 vs 13, 3 vs 12, 4 vs 11, 5 vs 10, 6 vs 9, 7 vs 8.

The Stormcast Eternals and Idoneth Deepkin battled it out over a collapsing Nexus last night.
The stormcast used an early shock and awe tactic to kill 3 sharks with minimal damage back from IDK. As objectives exploded the speed of the elves became increasingly advantageous as they opted for less confrontation and more objective control.
The stormcast chipped away throughout the game, but their heavy armour proved their downfall as the board spread laterally away from their centralized force.
Thanks Tyler for a fun game.

Just realized I forgot to post
Skaven played against maggotkin of nurgle last night it was a hard fought game with many casualties but in the end the rats all sick with nurgles plagues (kinda ironic) fell to the maggotkin.
The skaven will finish with a perfect record of 0-4 didn’t get a win but I did cause chaos which is good in my books!

A dispute over zoning between gardeners and the local fight club who just wanted to erect more towers of skulls and brass was settled. The massive Nurgle monsters had first turn, and cunningly rolled two miscasts in the first turn. The Blades of Khorne surged forward, their charge irresistible but blunted somewhat by some skillful Nurgle redeployments and counter-charges. The Bloodthirster redeemed his rather weak last outing by finishing off the Glotkin. This was followed up by taking down the Greater Unclean One, supported off course by two Bloodletter units and some Bloodcrushers. Reavers and Demons fell in great numbers, but this only seemed to bring more Bloodletters to the battlefield, who were then urged on to 3d6 charges out of deepstrike by the Bloodthirster.
Hardfought victory for the Blades of Khorne, with the difference being Battle Tactics and Grand Strategy.
Thanks for the game!

An excellent and close playoff game yesterday. Stormcast vs Deepkin. Highlights on my side include a unit of Stormcast Protectors charging solo into the center of the board and then stubbornly refusing to roll a 1 on their saves tanking most of the elven army for a turn and a Lord Arcanum on Gryph charger being solely responsible for 3 of the 4 battle plans that the stormcast scored. After saying it was not great and wouldn't come up often I managed to score the new battle plan. I am continually impressed with the ability of the Deepkin to just change flanks and be where they need to be.

It was a great game. Nothing like 30 dice into a 2+ save dealing 1 damage. Probability was the biggest loser on the night.
Thanks for the write up.

The Blades of Khorne had set about clearing a Greenbelt to make the way for affordable housing for skulls when they were set upon by treehuggers, and trees!
The Sylvaneth surged forward on the right flank of the Khorne, holding back their Treelords. Bloodletters, Bloodcrushers and Flesh Hounds combined to kill six Kurnoth(?) Hunters. The Sylvaneth cunningly handed Khorne a double turn to set the Impluse favourably, and then failed three charges with the Treelords...
The forces of Khorne, enabled by their Emotional Support Bloodthirster took the centre with a big Bloodletter mob. They then, somehow, survived a charge by Durthu. A freshly summoned Bloodletter unit took down Durthu with the Bloodthirster in support. A narrow win for Khorne - let's get building those affordable Skull Towers!
A very tactical game with a fun mission. The Bloodletters in the centre were able to roll two 6s on their saves to stay alive against Durthu and hold the Pulse. If you can roll 6s and stand on circles you can be good at Warhammer!
Darren was a great host with a fantastic-looking army. Failing all of those Turn 2 charges was very bad luck, and I think even one success would have changed the game.
