Just to be sure, you don't need to fill up a dedicated transport in order to field it, you just need a unit/individual model etc in it?
And as for transport capability, I know that there are cases where a model with X wound or Y type counts as multiple models. But the Ghost Ark says it has the capacity for 10 warrior models and 1 Necron infantry character model.
So that means at the start of the game I could have any of these: 10 warriors 10 warriors and attached infantry character 10 warriors and independent infantry character independent infantry character
And it would be valid.

You can also start a cyptex in side one to stop it from dieing then leave it empty if a,single character is an option

I have a separate question about transports. If I run 5 hellblasters with a lieutenant giving them lethal hits in an impulsor with firing deck 6 when I shoot the hellblasters with the firing deck rule will they still have the lethal hits? The wording says the lieutenant gives the unit he’s attached to lethal hits but the firing deck rule says the weapons count as if they were equip to the vehicle.

That was the notion. Either have a sovereign cloak-tek (to baby the D.Arks) or Szeras (he's an infantry character so valid even if he's bigger than a dreadnought).
I just wanted to be 100% it was valid.

The Hellblasters aren't shooting, the Impulsor is - and therefore, no Lethal Hits. If the Impulsor dies to Hazardous then the Hellblasters can shoot after disembarking, and will at that point benefit from Lethal Hits.

ya when you are in a vehicle you don't count as being on the board for any rules purposes, so the lieutenant would not confer the rules for lethal hits

In that case wouldn’t the impulsor only take 3 mortals from the hazardous as well? since it’s a vehicle

Yes that is true the transport takes mortals if it fails the hazardous test AND let's say you kill the transport and they disembark they still have not shot yet as it was the vehicle that shot. So you can get a weird double activation with them.

In that case wouldn’t the impulsor only take 3 mortals from the hazardous as well? since it’s a vehicle It would suffer 3 mortal wounds for each failed Hazardous test - you need to roll one per Hazardous weapon, so 5-6 in this case.

Or you can roll up like tau and run 3x CIB and have a unit roll 18 hazardous tests...

Ya 18 hazardous checks would be what on average 9 mortal wounds?
