Dark Sun was my favourite universe when it was out. I've been looking forward to its re-release and will hopefully be able to get my hands on the books.

When Dark Sun is completely re-released I will prolly take time away from 40K to Immerse myself in the desert. I just hope the new magic system and psionic rules don't nerf the Epic feel of the world.

A very brief primer on Athas... plus images! Yay, the Braxat, my favourite Athasian monster! I assumed this was Draj but due to the attire (and legendary event), this must be Tyr. ...and the ruins of Guistenal with flying Dray in the background?

Still can't wait to get my hands on the books. I've been trying to get my gaming group interested into this after we're done our Star Wars campaign.

Only 5 more weeks, although I heard 2 weeks earlier for Nexus Mike because his store rules and has a special status! Anyway, Dark Sun rulebook/setting, monster book, adventure, and psionic expansion all come out at the same time, which is Aug 17 everywhere else, so I assume early August for us! I'll be reserving my copies very soon... For those interested in the original Dark Sun artwork, look up Gerald Brom (my favourite fantasy artist) and Thomas Baxa (my least favourite, oddly enough). Until then, a few more images: Along with the Crodlu, these are important and common beasts of burden. I'm interested to see if they incorporate a trading class, being that it used to be such an integral class to the setting. To that end, if you are planning to run an Athasian campaign, more than anything else, I recommend trying to get your hands on the old supplement, "Dune Trader". It details the various merchant houses, available materials and resources, and personalities, which are the true lifeblood of the Tablelands. Lastly, the best Dark Sun lyrics in a song ever!

Did you keep all of the old Dark Sun campaign stuff you have? I know you got rid of most of your old books this year.

They really screwed Athas up. The rulers of Athas used to be genuinely powerful. They're now just generic monsters with lots of hit points.
