Round 2 saw Azrael assisting a contingent of Consecrators on a remote Industrial world in the Imlerium Nihilus vs a brutal World Eaters assault.
They had been in the region investigating rumors of heretic astartes activities in the region, and were met with heavy resistance after making planetfall. Initial strikes proved extremely effective, with a unit of Deathwing Knights plunging deep into enemy lines to secure their main objective, forcing the World Eaters to turn their attention on regaining lost ground. Azrael personally lead a squad of Hellblasters to push up toward the heart of the battlefield, laying down heavy plasma fire and obliterating enemy defenses on their home objective to support the 1st company. Unfortunately, cultists on the planet had performed a blood ritual unknown to the Consecrators. The Red Angel himself charged from cover behind a ruined building and tore his way through the middle, carving a bloody hole through the Loyalist lines. Azrael was forced to teleport away to his flagship and call for support as the violence continued on the planet below. Angron was briefly brought down, securing a vital blow to the heretics, and allowing the Deathwing to return to clearing their way through the enemy lines. By halfway through the battle both sides had suffered massive losses, but the Consecrators were holding multiple key objectives, and despite running critically low on supplies, were holding off the World Eaters counter offensive. Angron reappeared on the left flank, and tore the flank apart, taking down a wounded Sternguard unit, and the last of a bladeguard squad with ease. The Knights finished pushing the heretics out of their region in the city, and prepared to face Angron, when word came from a scout squad doing recon in the centre that the world eaters were falling back, and imperial reinforcements were inbound to finish securing the planet.
Battle ended in a pyrrhic victory for the Dark Angels successor, they had secured many vital objectives, but at a cost of much of the force they had deployed. For now, the Consecrators will regroup and resupply, and prepare for their next mission.

The Lion cast his steely gaze over the Tyranid horde. In the blink of an eye he ran through all the tactical, operational and strategic factors at play. He was faced with two Screamer-Killers, two Psychophages, a Deathleaper, a Hive Tyrant and innumerable bugs. He set his jaw and jogged across the battlefield into his chosen, epic opponent. Defeating it would turn the tide.
Twenty Termagants wondered what they had done to earn this charge - maybe that they were on a Tempting Target? They survived the turn, though, denying 5 VPs for a moment. The Lion, deciding that he really liked shrimp-cocktail, finished them off in a glory.
Meanwhile the Hellblasters and Deatwing Knights did some heavy-lifting against the other 1950 points of the Tyranid army.
A fun match with Salamanders from the cabinet cosplaying as Deathwing Knights that I fogot on my shelf at home...
The Dark Angels were killy killy, but the bugs were everywhere and had good board control. A narrow win for the Lion. He was last seen with a cooler collecting all the Termagants he could find for a snack later on the Rock. There is a lot you can do with Termagants. BBQ, broiled, boiled, garlic, tempura, poached, Thai, etc etc.

I am going to stick with the Lion for the next round. The Termagaunt-Aflredo Pizza was delicious. The Watchers saved one of the OG brick ovens from Caliban. Chef's kiss. Seriously - my wife bought shrimp today and we made pizza.
It was a fun game! My shoot-on-death Hellblasters did everything that could asked of them. An Exocrine or two would have had me sweating. Hate those things. My Lancer rolling double 2s (with a re-roll on one) was hilarious, as was my Overwatching Hellblasters killing the Deathleaper. Tzeench intervenes from time to time....

There was a disturbance on a far reaching Hive world. A call for help was issued and two different firestorm assault forces heeded that call, one a Salamanders strike force while the other Astartes were just a pretender. When they arrived in theater it was found that no enemy was found other than the rival force. With the lack of an enemy force (Tzeentch trickery suspected) the two firestorm strike forces vented their frustrations and struck out against each other.
It started with the pretenders opening up on the stern of the Salamanders Landraider Redeemer whose stern was unable to get completely into cover. The Landraider 'tanked' all of the shots off the first salvo, something that would continue to tell the story of the engagement. The Salamanders answered back with all of their armour and brought the pretenders own Landraider down. The Bladegaurd, once Landraider passengers, retreated from the wreckage towards the middle of the battle field.
The pretenders advanced their Flamestorm aggressors from their homefield through the ruins and into the middle and joined their Bladegaurd brethren. With the rest fo their forces they destroyed the the Salamnders Repulsor on the center objective and the rival Bladegaurd emerged. The ensuing fight saw the Salamanders' Reedemer move forward, unload the Flamestorm Aggressors and wreck havoc on the mid-board, after fire and sword, the Agressors and Bladegaurd removed the rival mirror formations from the mid-board.
On the punch back, the pretenders put all of their remaining guns into the Landraider Redeemer, with the last shot it was destroyed, but only after tanking all shots from the remining pretenders dreadnaughts.
After some movement, deeps trikes, both forces removed the opposing forces off long held objectives. In the end it was decded that both forces would lick their wounds, call it a tie, leave this hive world, and look for Xenos and Chaos else where.

List is updated. Left the Lion in the list, even though he is decidedly "meh" now.
