So the rumors are confirmed, the book has been well perused down at Nexus... so we know what we're in for to some extent... even if we don't have games under our belt yet with the new ruleset.... So... how is 8th edition going to change your game? What tactics do you think you'll take advantage of now? are you itching to field 50 swordsmasters in horde formation? is the 7 damsel army going to be your mainstay? are you planning to buy every template warmachine that Nexus has? I know it's early... but what new changes are you probably going to incorporate in your first 8th ed army lists?

Actually I don't think I'll change much of anything....I was already running working on a core heavy Dark Elf list

Im going to try a horde of skinks for the tournement just to see how it does. not sure if i will use it all the time but may work well.

Well, my first attempt involves dropping my Bolt Throwers to extend my core and turn my spears into Seaguard (i'll give that a shot anyway), and drop my two Lion Chariots to beef up my Phoenix Guard and Swordsmasters up to 35 and 21 respectively. Not sure about what I'm doing with characters yet, whether I'm sticking to an Archmage and a couple fighty guys, or going with a Prince, BSB and a couple LV 2's.

I'm going to try out the horde rule a little bit with my skaven I think... not with everything of course because things can already get pretty cramped in the deployment zone... .... might do a horde with giant rats... mainly because I think it would look cool....

Yeah...slaves seem to be somewhat purposeless now....with re-directing seemingly MUCH weaker, and hordes of infantry being stronger, big units of Clanrats and whatnot seem like a much better idea.

I'm adding MORE archers , probably 80. 4 units of 10x2 Men-at-arms , pushing this up to a horde .. 10x4
Removing one unit of knights to pay for it. Will be running two lords instead of one, as the Green Knight is a relatively cheap lord. Adding more Damsels.
Should be better magically, and with horde rule + more arrows (80 braziers) i hope to offset the reduced effectiveness of the charge with my knights in the new edition.

Right now I only have enough lizzies to really start fielding a horde (ignoring the ~4000 pts of still in plastic Empire) so I think I am going to try out a large block of saurus with several smaller units of skinks/krox. The Slaan will likely remain the general with a couple of foot bound scar-vets to beef up the units. With some work, I think could get the druchii into a horde by adding more spears, RXBs and I might even invest in some witch elves. The assassin will likely be the first casualty as the lack of any type of save makes him very vulnerable.

Yes, a stubbon daemon unit with 50+ horrors/plague bearers/bloodletters in it - only good news is I can like run away faster than they can pursue ;D

yeah...I saw a battle report where a guy fielded 50 bloodletters and 50 horrors in a list...Simply nothing the foe could do about them.

Other than horde rule, was there any other thoughts on how 8th is changing your game / tactics? How has the new magic affected your army or your tactics? I for one think the fact you can only have one scroll in your entire army really changes the magic phase up alot with that one simple change....
