looking at the rules....... yeah....... that dosent surprise me at all... if I ever want to start an IG army.. I thing I might pick up my infantries from mantic shouldnt be taking profit away from nexus, since I order through them and I need to get my vehicles from them anyways.

Mantic Warpath is diverging from a 40K clone as they develop fluff. There will likely be a Warpath kickstarter April/May 2013 timeframe that will further flesh it out. The Corporation is evil in this world and the other off-shoot races battle against them. Orx were genetically modified shock troops that rebelled. Veer-myn are the result of mutated experiments that went underground. The sparse concept images for Corporation vehicles and such are much more hard sci-fi than 40K and look to be mostly hover-based.
A new version of the Warpath rules was released in the past month or so for beta. Squad based with alternating activation rolls to move your troops plays quite differently from 40k
The final version of Kings of War is different from WHFB and is a pretty good game in its own right. Alessio Cavatore wrote the rules for both Kings of War and Warpath. He was a game designer for many years at GW working on WHFB, 40K and LotR. Ronnie Renton is the Mantic owner and was a former marketing director at GW.
I think they are slowly developing their own identity and style and have pumped out a ton of product in the past couple of years and engage quite a bit with their customers. They would have been crazy not to initially be a 'counts-as' army provider, especially when they come in just shy of half price to GW products. Hopefully they continue to develop on their own and in the end just make another line of good minis.

I'll keep this rolling. Mantic is doing a '12 Sculpts of Christmas' this week to show the WIP from their Kings of War and Dreadball Kickstarters. Here are today's: Kings of War Troll - resin and concept art Dreadball Season 2 Veer-myn coach

If I were to get back into the GW scene I would probably use Mantic models for some cost efficiency.
I already bought into their DreadBall Kickstarter so I'll see for myself in the near future the quality of their minis. I hear it is decent.

Yeah, the four coaches they were offering as a paid add-on were mostly references to other popular figures. The Orx coach was the Mantic mascot Orcy. The Veer-Myn coach was Master Splinter. And the Human coach was the guy from the movie Dodgeball.

Ooooo, Orc Chariot. This model is supposed to be a dual kit where it can also be a Fight Wagon - basically the 'Gores' are pushing instead of pulling and the front has lots of spiky bits and more troops.

I remember wanting to order some of those werewolves to base a necromantic blood bowl team off of then forgot about them till after the KOW Kickstarter ended. I'll still have to look into them when they become available.
