we pushed on anyways... as this was a kill point game so was going to be necessarily bloody...
we played very aggressively, using the "honey badger don't give a fuck" mentality... the destroyer lord decided to show these wraiths how to save and tanked ALL of the shots coming his way, eating a wound on the way (not one at a time either... like 6-8 shots by the handful)...
the blood angels took down the avatar (eventually) with some help from their buddy lemartes. The wraiths and destroyer lord hit the eldar lines and began to tear up the eldar ranks, including a brief pause to tear up a wraithlord.

Once we overran their aegis line and took out the avatar and wraithlords, the barges and ghost ark were lighting up the vypers and mech.
in the end we ended the day like we started with a solid win on primary objective and secondaries....

all told this was a very fun format and fun tourney... there were lots of extremely well painted armies, and solid lists to play against...
of particular note when we finished our last game we got to witness our game three opponents (one of which was drinking heavily and passed from 'happy loud drunk' to 'angry frustrated obnoxious drunk') battle our game two opponents. Quote of that match was drunk guy saying "I fully expect to get zero sportsmanship"
... I'm pretty sure he did.....

... You came up against two opponents who used illegal set ups for the Aegis? Was there a specific tournament rule saying it could be open and not closed?

Hmm, okay I see now. After reading it and the FAQ again.. It seems that you can have it open. I've been told so many conflicting things with mine. :\

Yeah, pre-FAQ most people were suggesting it would have to be a circle. (Which I advocated) but it does seem that you must deploy it as an unbroken string, but having a closed loop appears to be optional.
