and from my perspective the answer is yes if it's a legal copy...
however original post also talked about torrenting the PDF's which is not a legal copy....

would you have a problem if I downloaded PDFs of codexes, looked them over, and buy the codex of the army I wanted to play in the end? right now im leaning towards IG/tau/necron for my second army, so I dont really want to buy 3~4 codexes just to end up not using all but one. I'm not trying to use illegal copies, since it's pretty much the same as flipping through the books at nexus. I dont think, at lease, that this is wrong because I cant exactly memorize the point values and I'll buy whatever I play.

what you do in the privacy of your own computer is none of my concern this issue is only about what you bring to tournaments.... if you're trying to decide what army to buy, I'd certainly look over all the books myself to get a good idea of what you'd like...

I realize people have issues with GW pricing, but the cost of playing at Nexus is free. The way it stays open for all of us is by us buying product... I've done tournies out of town... big ones... Nexus charges far less for their tournies and has MUCH bigger prize pools than even the big tournies I've been to lately... agreed. mike told me that his tornies are non-for-profit, everything we pay are translated into prizes
