because I just don't have enough projects on the go... this would be using Krommlech ork greatcoats and gas mask heads for all of the guard troops rather than Death Korp$ because I have my limits as to what I'd spend on an army... plus I think it's funny....
For those who don't know, the Death Korps of Krieg army list is mainly trench footsoldiers, who cannot take alot of normal guard options (ie: vendettas) and concentrate alot on artillery...
HQ:
Company command squad with astropath (for the breaching drills)
troops:
5 engineers 5 engineers 5 engineers (they unlock the drills, which can be taken without taking up a slot) Hades breaching drill Hades breaching drill Hades breaching drill
Infantry Platoon Platoon command squad 4 infantry squads - Commissar with fist, 2 fists, 2 flamers, 2 grenade launchers 9 autocannons
Elite:
Heavy quad launcher (because it's cool looking and I want one)
Fast:
2 cyclops RC Demolition vehicles (cheap and cool looking) Bane wolf Bane wolf
Heavy:
2 Medusa Siege guns with bastion breacher shells Thunderer Siege Tank Thunderer Siege Tank
Imperial bastion with Icarus Lascannon
2,000 points 103 models 9 vehicles

Well, I think the key thing to remember about a DKoK army is their infantry is very sturdy. I think they all have stubborn? So why only one infantry platoon?
That, and they have access to some very very sturdy vehicles. Why no Gorgons or something similar?
Edit: Forgeworld rules are found in their respective Imperial Armour Books. The one for the DKoK would be Imperial Armour 7 The Seige of Vraks

Well I ran out of points very quick believe it or not.... a blob of 40 guys that are stubborn with three hidden fists seemed good... but more than that and it starts to impact mobility and the sheer volume of fire...
Drills have a maw lock attack but are melta.... can do a real trygon tunnel and ram and shoot more melta... Plus dkok are only stubborn one turn after an assault.... not a great advantage given a commissar gives it all the time...
The gorgon is fine and all but that siege tank gives a huge bang for the buck... a AV 14 vindicator? Yes please!

Wait... why are you taking drills?

Because the hades breaching drills deep strike from below causing a large S10 AP1 large blast to everything as they come up (and with +1 to reserve rolls from the astropath will be in on a 2+ turn two!). once they're up they can either ram things (with a S10 melta hit when they ram due to their special rule) or shoot things with a S8 AP1 melta shot. They don't take up a FOC if you bring engineers (1 per engineer squad) and they're 15 points more than a rhino.... and they create a tunnel that scoring units can choose to come out of afterwards....
be thankful I didn't take six of them.... lol....
in summary this is the firepower this list puts out per turn, without taking into account any orders:
2 S10 AP2 ordnance large blasts 2 S10 AP 2 ordinance blasts that have +2D6 armor pen 1 S9 AP2 skyfire interceptor 3 S8 melta which do S10 AP1 large blasts when deep striking in safely 2 S8 AP2 one shot ordinance blasts 18 S7 AP4 2 S6 AP4 18 S5 AP4 1 S5 AP 5 heavy 4 blast 2 templates poison 2+ AP3 2 flamers 70 lasguns

Ah, okay. I see what your intentions are now. :>
There are a lot of different ways you can run a DKoK army. Seems like a lot of fun. Plus, lets be real, the FW models of them are awesome. Even though you will most likely use the Death Orks of Krieg instead.

Honeslty getting that few infantry it would probably be close to the same price to get the actual Death Korps....

I thought you were going to make it into an ork army not guard. Disappointment. Biker Orks from Mars are totally different than Death Orks of Krieg

Well... that's the end of that idea...
here I thought it would be a cheaper way to actually have a cool looking death korps of krieg army...
turns out when i actually priced out the models to do this, it ended up costing $1245 before taxes / shipping
to make this list with official forge world, after paying the crazy exchange rate to British pounds, would be $1798
I like cool projects and all... but that is WAY beyond my price range to invest in a single army!!!!
