Easy, its not what you think.
I was in the store and talked to Mike about a tournament to get the slow grow rolling. Here are the details.
-18 May 2013, Saturday 9-6ish
-20 points- from the faction you want to play during the slow-grow( you can change faction later during the slow-grow)
-4-5 rounds depending on how fast games go
-No painted models(as little paint as possible),you will lose points for painted models
-$10 entry fee with prizes- sign at Nexus
-30 spots available
This is the gate way to the tourny. If you want to change factions at any point during the slow-grow you can. This tourny is just to get everyone into the spirit of gaming and the start of the slow-grow. So save some models and don't paint them.
Can one of the admin gents please move this to tournaments.

Sounds pretty cool. I'm not sure I'll have an unpainted full force to play...maybe if I pull out an odd Menite list....or buy and play a Galleon at 20 points....

Oh no, you can paint your stuff. I think the intention here is to have everyone on the same playing feild when we first start. I am painting too, don't think I won't.

yeah, i think what he ment was like a reverse painting score, where you get points for less paint on your minis. but you can still play with a painted army (i hope as i only have one model not painted lol)

Considering that all the stuff I have is pretty much either already done/started painting or at least primed I've got nothing to run since the only new stuff I was thinking/hoping to buy any time soon was the Convergence and that isn't out until later....unless of course Mike has heard it'll be out in time for the tournament.
And no I'm not going to strip all my models and start over at this point just to get some extra points ;D Just have to hope I can make it and that I get lucky with the draws for once

Its just to let people know that they can play with unpainted stuff if they want to start a new army for the slow grow.
Just sign up and play some games.
Painted models or not I am in.

I'm hoping primered counts as unpainted? Got a bunch of stuff primered I'm not going to get around to anytime soon.
I'll probably just pick up some Menoth fury either way, but that may or may not be for tourney number one. I'll actually need to harass people about what I should pick up as far as starting up some Menoth, or if people have any they want to offload.

So it says that no painted models are allowed. I have spoken with Mike and what he is saying is that he would like to see less painted models than painted ones. If you have painted models they can still be in your list however you will lose points on the reverse paint score.
So I will be bringing painted models. Unless I start a new army by then.
Needless to say come on out and play some Warmahordes.
