3.5 is fairly easy to DM if you're familiar with 4th ed as the basics are the same... just need to let go of the whole idea of daily/at will/encounter powers as there are none... statblock looks slightly different, but not enough to matter much....

Thats great but there wont be any times until I find a new DM or find someone who can teach me enough about 3.5 so I can DM myself

Do you not have an interest in 4e? It would be a lot easier for you to find one in the latest DnD edition, always is. Pathfinder is a fantastic alternative to 4e, if you prefer the 3.5 style. By the sounds of your post, you don't have a solid foundation in 3.5e already, so why not move to Pathfinder or 4e? Don't believe what all the trolls say about 4e, it isn't all that bad, you just need a DM who understands RP, and how to make the game better For me personally, aside from the original "Dungeons and Dragons" 1e, 4th Edition is my favorite edition as it simplifies everything. I know you asked for 3.5 campaigns exclusively; and that's cool .. it's just hard to find people willing to play an older edition.

Ok then well the question still stands. Dos anyone know of anyone else that would like to or could possibly teach me about 3.5 DMing so I could get this game back on track?

<please note... the response that John Churchill made in this thread was deemed to be once again insulting and derogatory and was therefore deleted. He has been warned previously, and continues in this behaviour, therefore he has been banned from the forum.>
sorry to even have to put this note in your thread, however I felt I should explain why I deleted the post.

ok then I could try 4e. I cant comment on it for I have yet to try it and I haven't heard much good of it but its up to me to form my own opinion. So is there anyone that would like to DM a 4e then? or path finder? Its really the RP that I enjoy the most so I don't think it changes all that much maybe only for the out of no where ''Make a will save! '''s. SO! if anyone would like to DM a campaign I can get the table reset up at Nexus

SO! if anyone would like to DM a campaign I can get the table reset up at Nexus You will certainly have a much easier time getting a 4e group running. If i had the time i'd commit to a 'campaign' for you but unfortunately do not. Are you aware of the DnD 4e "Encounters" that Nexus runs every Wednesday night at 5pm? Just show up, they have pre-generated characters ready to go, and you can hop into the middle of a campaign and get an encounter done. You will see 4e played and get to actually get your hands a little dirty trying it out. Once you see how 4e flows, you may like it. So wednesday evening, 5pm at Nexus. Try it out!

i have many of the books for 3.5 on my memory stick. i don't DM but if you read though the DMG 2 it gives you good edvice on how to DM. it's not hard at all to DM it's all about coming up with things to keep the game interesting. my DM manages to get away with completely making stuff up as we are going. (i found that amazing)

I wish I had the time to DM a game, I prefer 3.5 over 4th ed. buy a long shot. I play 4th exclusively, and I agree there are several shortcomings. However a few house rules, DM and player focus, and you're back into an amazing RPG tabletop gaming. I made a house rule PDF for some very nice changes, I will be tweaking that with even more / more clearly written 4th Edition rule changes to bring back the "RP" into Dungeons & Dragons. 4th Edition 'forgets to tell you' a lot of things; which include a lot of improvised movement/actions during play. Since the introduction of 'powers', people tend to rely on the at-will's a little too much and forget about their surroundings. Try shoving a mob with a sheer strength check, or holding a door shut. Perhaps you could hurl a chair at someone's head, or try some flat out diplomacy. There are a lot of scenarios in 4th which I find the core rulebooks don't dive much into. Maybe they're expecting high hit-point, long and drawn out round-by-round combat which gets boring quickly... It's up to the DM and the players to fix the monotony that is 4th Ed, and turn it into something great. Turns out, in my experience, it isn't all that hard to do.
