I need some clarification about movement after the 1st round (i.e. "make way") and also about removing models. The Scenario:A unit of Rat Ogres make contact with an enemy infantry hoard. A character is on the end. They move to maximize base contact. QUESTION 1: According to the rules, the models in a single rank (let's forget about the packmaster for a minute here) have to remove models evenly from either side. Would 'evenly' take into account it's position vs. the other unit- or could the Rat Ogre player choose to remove the model farthest away? QUESTION 2: Say, the Rat Ogres start being made into minced meat, and they actually remove the model closest to the character who's doing the damage. In round 2, can the character shift if this happens? Or is the character out of combat? [Q2: This is probably going to spawn a crazy combat reform question, where you're removing a rank & file model from combat to fit the character in; you can't do that according to the rules, right?]

Im pretty sure that the answer to Question 1 is your choice as long as the next model you remove is from the other side. Evenly here would refer to your unit, not your unit relative to the other. For the second question I'm pretty sure that the character can make way to get back into combat at the start of a round. He just can't move OUT of combat but can get back into the fray. I THINK that make way happens at the START of the combat, so if he was armed with a great weapon and the unit killed that rat ogre before he could strike he wouldn't get to attack this round. Need to re-download the rulebook pdf to be completely sure but that is my understanding of the rules for this situation.

the character can make way to continue chopping up the ogres... feel free to take off your casualties either side so long as it's evenly...
