Noice. Where did you end up storing the battery? It's underneath his right foot. I just cut a rectangular hole in the base and made a battery box out of plasticard which then got covered by the rocks to look like an outcropping. The wires snake down the inside of his tunic near his right leg and go behind the outcropping that’s by his right leg, the switch is mounted vertically to the battery box on the outside, super easy to get to and is surprisingly hidden. |

For anyone trying to Kitbash any of the solo elites that may or may not need a bunch of wicked orb looking things on chains… I’ve put together a 3D model of 20x marine scale “Disease Grenades”. The chains have a .1mm diameter stick running up the middle so after they’ve been printed you can snap or cut out the stick so that the grenades will actually sway on the chains. They’re not cheap but they will cost you a hair over a single elite and can be used for… Biologus Putrifier (I ordered some for mine, pics to follow once they’ve arrived) Flail of Corruption (thanks for only including one in each box GW!) I’ve been a bit silent recently on painting progress, been busy with other parts of life. I got word that my Blight Grenades have shipped from Shapeways and will soon arrive to me. Once I’ve got them on my kitbashed Biologus Putrifier I’ll post up some photos and maybe a video so everyone can see the chains in action, yep… Real working chains on a 40k model. (hopefully…)
I also need to upload a photo of my finished Malignant Plaguecaster I did for the November challenge.
Side Note: One of the many “other parts of life” is my Kylo Ren costume which is thankfully almost re-built to the exacting standards of the 501st Legion. I’m hopefully going to be submitting my approval photos before the end of the year. If approved I’ll be one of two approved Kylo Ren’s in the Ottawa Garrison, who’s coverage area goes all the way from the Qubec border out to just shy of Belleville and from the border with the States to a few towns north of Ottawa.
