Venomthropes are stupid good.
30 termies to one tervigon is a little annoying.
Flyrant is still the king of the HQ slot but an entirely foot army that's heavy on venomthropes and carnifexes with two primes is viable but I wouldn't take it to a serious tourney.
Mawlocs are definitely better in a pair than solo because of the redundancy and I feel like you really need them coming in as soon as possible (which redundancy helps with) at least just basic mathhammer theory imo.

Ok Cool you still think venomthrope are so good with all those ignore cover safe weapon? i feel like they are not really bringing that much and they bubble is to limited... i know everybody is freaking out on them... What did they do in your game that made the difference....
Do you start your mawloc on the table? Thats what I do to make sure I can go straight into tunnel

here are my thoughts: kingstonwarhammer.proboards.com/thread/4793/hive-fleet-comes-tyranid-codexand venomthropes offer your opponent a few options... they can try and manouver for line of sight on them (difficult because they're hidden behind big MC's right?) and try and take them out, concentrating their efforts on something that really is only useful for a turn or two at most and ignore your other threats (ie: those flyrants, MC's, hormagants, whatever) so even if they die it's worth it to draw your opponent's fire and move them out of their battleline... this works really well with wave serpents, which only have one of their guns that ignores cover anyways and it still needs LOS and has random shots. if your opponents' wave serpents spend a turn trying to shoot your venomthropes because one of their guns have ignore cover, that minimal point investment is WAY worth it!

yeah I wrote that after a bunch of playtesting, so pretty much those are my thoughts... well so far at least I've tried deathleaper a couple of times now... not too sure of him as a warlord, he's actually fairly easy to kill...

well it really has some potential hiding out to give those eldar the -3 plus getting shadows nearby... good luck getting a psychic power off on L4! (as under psychic powers a character cannot use the highest leadership in the unit for his Leadership value when casting psychic powers!!!)
even if leaper hides out all game he'd be worth it against Eldar!

I look forward to hearing how he does... I've only tried him twice, once he failed utterly, but that was my fault (over extended him and relied a little too much on believing snap shots would protect him - then that missile rolled a six to hit! lol). The second time he just hid and did backfield patrol while completely and utterly shutting down Draigo's psychic powers all game...

7 wave serpents? Seriously? yeah good luck beating that with anything, sorry. Nids cannot beat that. This list was what got people raging about how unbalanced the Eldar codex (specifically WAY undercosted wave serpents) are. I know you say you play in an "ultra-competitive" environment but there even has to be limits with even that don't you think? Something like that shows up to a tourney here I'd tell them to go fucking packing. Keep your $20, we'd rather have everyone have a chance at a fair game. ....Well except for Ard Boyz of course, you can show up to that with anything you please...
