In the interest of maybe getting any initial questions out of the way here's the scoring sheet for tomorrow.
wanted to highlight a couple things:
Yes you will be scoring your opponent's painting - and wanted to talk about this for a second. I'd like to play of course (if we have odd numbers, fingers crossed!) so if I do so it's not really feasible (or objective) for me to judge painting. I know this has the potential for chipmunking, however I hopefully have been totally clear on what constitutes which for each number.
so basically it's a 1-5 scale
1- unpainted -> so no real effort at making even the 50% mark or what is painted is three colours barely (like one of them is primer!)
I shouldn't see alot of these
2 - okay it's not fully painted, but what is painted as some effort shown. Doesn't have to be golden daemon, but someone actually took the time to paint at least half their models and put some effort in it. If your army isn't fully painted, it should fall normally here.
3 - fully painted - even three colours, if you put the effort in to get your army painted so we're not looking at primer/grey plastic - it goes here. This is the basic fully completed level.
4 - fully painted and nice - so yeah, you not only fuly painted your army, but you put some effort in. There may be washes, or clearly just alot of colours used. Maybe some conversions. If you're putting forth a decent effort and you're fully painted, you should probably be around here.
5 - fully painted and one of the best here. There honestly shouldn't be a lot of these scores. This is for really, really good paint jobs, some advanced technices, some great conversion work... generally the type of army that you think is in the running for best painted award.
Yes, this means that someone could do a golden daemon award winning paint job on HALF their army and not score as high as someone who did a fully painted three colour army. Them's the breaks. You can't be in the running for best painted if your army is not fully painted, that's just not fair to the person who put forth the effort into painting their whole force. This is in preparation of course for our club championship... remember what a big meaney I am there?
All I ask when you score your opponent is that you be fair. I'm not asking anyone to super analyze every model for every teany detail - this is meant to be a rough scale that's easy to follow and quick. If you're waffling between 1-2 give someone the 2. If it's 3-4, I'm totally okay if you go 4 over 3. But if the person is not fully painted and you give them a four or five, that's not fair or accurate.
Sports:
simple thumbs up or thumbs down. If you give a thumbs down we will definitely ask you about it because we want to make sure everything is fun and fair for everyone.
sports does not give you a score towards best overall
