Question I have about the escalation and having to have the same models is can you add to the units from previous games or do they have to stay exactly the same in terms of models in them and upgrades?
Example: you take 10 marines on foot with a flamer game one. Can you then add a missile launcher and a rhino to the unit game 2 or are you stuck just taking the 10 guys on foot with a flamer?

you can add to the unit.. the models just must be present... ie: game one you have five marines with a flamer... game two you can make that a 10 man squad, add a missile launcher and a drop pod no problem. the thing you can't do is say "yeah those 5 scouts are now 5 tacticals" you don't even have to bring a combined arms detachment at the beginning if you don't want to... so long as stuff pulls forward in to the later lists So let's say I was playing tyranids... and wanted to get all crazy with detachments... I could do the following: Game one: 500 points Lictor forest brood formation (5 lictors) CAD - Tyranid Prime with toxin sacs, 3 ripper swarms, 5 genestealers Game Two: Deathleaper's assassin brood formation (deathleaper and 5 lictors) Broodlord's hunting pack formation (Broodlord + three units of 5 genestealers) CAD: tyranid Prime with toxin sacs and lash whip bonesword, 3 ripper swarms with deep strike x2, 2 zoanthropes So the models are present in both lists, even though I'm changing about the formations and options for the models... adding options like deep striking, and a better weapon as I go forward, but I have to keep the same models... by game three I could have that Tyranid prime as part of a Living Artillery Node formation and add a flying hive tyrant to my Combined Arms Detachment to beef that up too... so long as you're using the same models it's perfectly fine to add to a unit or add options to a unit... ...so yeah long story short they can take a rhino later

I figured that's how it worked but wanted to be sure before list building. Also I'm not taking marines, just used them as a simple example

So to clarify, if game 1 I have Khan, and 2 units of 6 bikes to hit 500, game 2 I could have Khan, 3 units of 5 bikes, some attack bikes and a tank? Because all 12 bikers from the first list make it in to the second one?

after the main spots fill up we can accomodate more, but that means getting more tables in... which we can't do unless we know you're coming... so if it's a "probably" still sign up on the site (it doesn't require you to pay after all) so that we can be properly prepared with tables and printing.

Couple of questions Shannon,
1. Fully painted, 3 colours painted, or primed ect. What is the minimum for this Turney?
2. If I bring Blood Angels and the codex comes out the week before. Can I use the New Codex?

you can be a lovely shade of black primer for all I care...No painting requirement, this is the laid back fun tourney - just don't expect to win best painted this is one of those "fun" tournies where everyone gets at least something (it's secret Santa after all!) for showing up and it's really a chance for us to hang out and have a bit a fun on a Saturday. This is one of our more relaxed events for sure. Mike had been asking me several times before I scheduled it "we're doing secret Santa again right???" so it's certainly a favourite of the Nexus staff too If the blood angels codex is released that morning you can use it... just expect Tom to be reading over your shoulder the whole time you make your lists
