So, we're getting close to Kingcon and I should post final details!
This was posted in the details already, but the entry fee is optional. However, the $15 entry fee will allow you to be eligible for prizes! And who doesn't love sweet, sweet loot?
It will be a 50 point Steamroller 2015, 4-round event. (Time permitting, we may have a final table if everything runs smoothly.)
Timing will be Deathclock - each player will have 60 minutes on the clock, deployment will be on the clock.
One or two lists, with Divide and Conquer 1 (You must play each list at least once. If you're only playing one list, you're in the clear!)
Character restrictions - you can have FA:C models in only one list.
To play with the new rules from the Masters packet, it WILL BE ADR-STYLE.
For people who don't want to read the whole rules packet, what this means is:
If all the warcaster/warlocks you play are off the Active Duty Roster, you are allowed 20 points of Specialists. This is ENTIRELY OPTIONAL. You can play whatever lists you like, these just give you a special bonus if you play casters from the list.
(So, if you are playing two lists, both casters must be from the ADR list. If you're only playing one list, and that caster is on the list, you also get your 20 points of specialists!)
So what are specialists?
They are an extra 20 points of models you have access to for each list. Each list will have their own specialists written down under the base army list.
These models are not used unless a player decides to SUBSTITUTE them for models in their army list. Your base list will still be a 50pt list! You will still be
playing with 50 points, you can just swap in different models after each player has selected their list. After list selection, players simultaneously reveal the cards of the models to be removed, and the cards for those added. You cannot
use Specialists to go from a min to a max unit, any swaps must be a 'full card'. If you play a Theme Force, any swaps must still fulfill the conditions of the tier you are playing.
The Active Duty Roster is listed below:

Special note about prizes:
At the Kingston Gaming Nexus, we strive to always have excellent prize support for all our tournaments. We do this by converting 100% of the entry fees we receive into prizes, which we purchase at cost. None of the entry fee is used for venue fees, staff salary, or any other hidden fees. So what this typically means is for a 20-person tournament at $15 a head, we’re often providing $500 or more worth of prize support. 90% or more of our prizes are also given away as door prizes, so even if you place dead last in the tournament, you’re still going to have an equal chance to walk away with an awesome prize.
At King Con, which is hosted by the Kingston Frontenac Public Library, they have a policy regarding fees for events. The policy is that all events are free to participate in. However, if we did that, we would have no prizes. Therefore, this tournament will have special entry requirements: you may play for free, but it’s a $15 buy-in if you want to be eligible to win prizes. The more people that buy in, the better the prize support. Everyone wins!
