Details:
This is our first annual painting competition!
There will be the following categories:
40k single miniature (up to 50 mm base size) 40k squad (minimum 5 models, maximum 10) 40k large model (over 50 mm base size and vehicles) AOS single miniature (up to 50 mm base size) AOS unit (minimum 5 models, maximum 10) AOS large model (over 50 mm base size) Warmachine/Hordes single miniature (smaller than a warjack or beast) Warmachine/Hordes unit (minimum 3 models, maximum 10) Warmachine/ Hordes jack/beast
Young Bloods - any model, however must be 15 years or younger to enter.
The contest will run from January 2nd to January 30th. At the beginning of the contest you MUST show Nexus staff that you have an unpainted miniature that you are entering into the contest. They will take a picture. Then you have the month of January to paint this miniature to submit it.
the first week of February will be voting and display of the miniatures at Nexus.
It will cost $5 for you to submit an entry into a category. ($10 if you choose to not buy the model from nexus) This covers the cost of prizes for all these categories!
So this year for Xmas ask Santa to get you a new painting project - or use this as some motivation to get your club championship army ready!!!

To confirm, the model(s) must be in an unpainted state on January 2nd, correct?

Does that mean out of the box grey? Or can they be primed models?

they can be primed... just not painted... can't have some people getting two months to work on it while others get only a month... it's just to make sure it's as fair as possible.

As announced yesterday at the Secret Santa - the judging is not just by our local players/attendees at Nexus, but also all the entries will be photographed and judged as well by GAMES WORKSHOP NORTH AMERICA HQ who are helping us out with this contest as well!

For 40K Players. Will we have access to our models for the Club Championship, if they are up to be judged?

Winners are going to be announced at the CC if I recall, so voting should be done by then.

Don't judge me too harshly Justin, the rushed painting was so I could enjoy some down time before the club championships.
