Anyone else snowed in? Trying to motivate myself to stop eating junk and paint some broadsides! yeah they sent us home early today... managed to get back home on that stupid highway eventually... then had to shovel like crazy... motivation for painting? how about you only have four sleeps to finish? (and sometimes the difference between 1st and 5th place is single digit points... the kind you earn by painting )

For example, I'm pretty sure I won something last year with the points I got for putting squad numbers on my Marines!

Wish I could have been snowed in, instead I had to send the other staff home at 1:30 and stay at work myself for those 6 people who were insane enough to go out today to come to DriveTest this afternoon

I wish I'd been snowed in! I was at work until about 1pm.
A township plow truck got stuck on my road, so I had to sit at Toppers for an hour until he got pulled out. They didn't plow my road until night time so I had to drive through the wheel tracks up another road. Shannon, get this; it took me 10 minutes from Toppers to my house, plowing snow and sliding all the way.

wow... that's crazy.... you can almost see your house from Toppers! ...so we got sent home from work at noon - called Kayden (who had a snow day) and gave him an hour notice that we were coming home. Dug out like four people here in the parking lot to get home... slugged through Hwy 38 to get here. Pulled up and he hadn't picked up a shovel all day. 2 ft of snow (plus a couple passes by the snow plow) across my whole driveway area. went inside to find him sitting on the computer playing shooter games all morning. he ventured outside to stick a ruler in the snow to see how deep it would get in the driveway. not...impressed....

Everything officially has at least 3 colours! Still gotta do some major cleanup on the broadside and ethereal, but I'm feeling pretty confident.

Woo, congratulations! I thought I was there and then realized I totally forgot one unit, so I guess I'm running down to Nexus to spray a couple Terminators today! Shouldn't be a problem getting 3 colours on them though. Now to see how many extra paint points I can grab in the next couple days.

Now I have too pull my army out of the foam to make sure...

lol... did that once the night before a tournament... stayed up WAY too late getting a unit done! I triple check everything now... it's turned into tourney OCD...lol Back on your painting topic though, I gotta say these tau are extremely well done. Whoever is doing the paint judging this year should give you a pretty good score I must say

Thought I would change the name to the thread to since the last title is no longer as relevant. Anyways, on to what I've been up to. Rough test model for my next project
Here he is
Things I'd like to change: -Buy a lighter purple for highlights. I like the contrast. Currently using Royal Purple for the base with Hexed Lichen for highlights. Now I need a lighter purple. Any thoughts? Using Vallejo Game Colour -Some sort of silver highlight. -Clean up that one scroll. You can barely see it, but now that it's blown up on my screen, I hate it -Switch up how I do the bumpy weapon glow. I wanna keep the colour (don't want to do the blue thing), but I want to change how I've done it. Maybe keep the fins cleaner, do more of the colour from within. With that said, I don't think I'll do any OSL shenanigans. Not unless I really step up my game. Just looks dirty right now. -How the flip do you do power power swords? Also put together the world's shoddiest light box. It's made up of about 13 pages of printer paper, and half a role of mangled packing tape.

Been a quiet month. Finishing up the last week of school before placements, so my time has been spent elsewhere. Also, Twilight Princess HD is out, so I'm dungeon crawling and collecting rupees instead of killing Xenos and heretics. Anywho, here's a little project I've been working on. I love the look of the Onager donkey tank so much, that I was sad that the Kataphron destroyers had traditional treads instead of legs. So I found these AWESOME legs from this miniature line called Robogear. A little green stuff, some super glue, and I have a squad of mini, grav cannon toting onagers The guy on the left has some swagger because his base is modeled with some rocks to go under that foot.
